Go for the loft option as the black plastic bits gradually fall off (fat pigeons)

Why isn't it? Give me proof that it isn't?
#14
Thanks, been looking for a new aerial to replace the old one.
#15
Good price. Great if you have an older style aerial and you get Digital picture breakup. Put this in my loft and it sorted the picture out ;)

Give us proof that it is...

It is obviously far smaller, size matters when it comes to TV Aerials, oh and only a P.O. Address at your link, no thank you.

The proof can be seen just looking at the pictures. The aerial you reference is much smaller, so will have much lower gain, where the gain is the ability to discriminate between wanted signals and signals coming from the wrong direction. Although the "gain" given for your aerial claims to be similar, it claims to be amplified, so that gain does nothing for discrimination against unwanted signals. Furthermore, an amplifier introduces an element of noise, making the "gain" figure even less useful.

Just because your aerial works in your situation doesn't mean that it will work for everyone.

The product is not to scale, both products do not have sizing, I estimate the length of my aerial as being just over a metre in length, phoned screwfix and this one is exactly the same, also both suitable for indoor and outdoor useage. Bloody Nora try and prove a point on here and you get crucified I am not that bothered but want to prove you wrong lol. I am trying to save you guys money lol....

They are completely different beasts - yours appears to be a conventional Yagi (with a rather small reflector) and the Screwfix one an X-beam; yours has a built-in amplifier, making the "gain" figures impossible to compare. Read about different aerial types here, for instance.

You're not saving someone money if you persuade them to buy a totally different product in the belief that it is the same.

picked this up tonight thx op,

Oh and its not a F type connection , its the old, strip cable back , pin and clamp down type !!

Its a beast though !!! comes in about 6 parts too !!

I really hope it will work in my loft , as i cant access my chimney mounted one , would have to pay someone !!

You obviously do not understand how an aerial functions, the aerial that you linked to will not give as good a result as the one in this listing. FACT.

You are not comparing like with like.

Just get over it.

so does all the cable and mounting bracket come included?

so does all the cable and mounting bracket come included?

What do you think? Would they give you cable and brackets without advertising the fact?
#24
Well I would of thought you might get essential items included.
#25
What, like a telly and a chimney? :)

What you get is ,

Aerial flat packed in about 5 pieces
Mounting arm and lock bracket
Set of instructions

As said before its not a F type connector, its the old strip back and clamp method.

I tested this out in my loft last night , i took a tv up with freeview built in powered up the tv with the aerial resting on the ground plugged it into the tv and BAM a picture , straight away , even before holding it up and aligning , well impressed

Its now fixed to a rafter and i have an extra 20 channels !!!

You call 13dB hot??
#28
dBs are a ratio and so are meaningless without a reference. Therefore, hot in relation to what? :)
#29
installed mine today, in the loft - had to do it twice though as i have two transmitters to aim for. The stronger signal wasn't the one i wanted though as i couldn't get all the bands on that one. as soon as i turned it to the other transmitter, i got all the channels! Money very well spent compared to getting a guy on the roof!

Superb, put it in the loft, pointed in vaguely the right direction, lent it against a rafter and now have 77 channels against 22 on the old external arial.
