Probably very much a budget sound and would be best used in small room.

Seems to be too good to be true @ £10!!!

#5
what inputs does this have?
#6
These look exactly the same as my Labtec Pulse 485 I bought a year ago from Ebuyer, I have a subwoofer and 2 speakers though and paid £17.00 for them. The 485's have marvellous reviews on Ebuyer which is why I bought them, and they are absolutely brilliant, I am no expert, but they have wonderful sound.

If the Labtec Arena 685 are anything like them then they should be good.

I have just checked out the 685 reviews on Ebuyer and they sound great.

Does this have a 5.1 decoder built in? Or is it really a 5.1 speaker system which makes the front left sound the same as the rear left?
#8
Hi does anyone know if these can be used with a TV?
#9
I bought these on Ebuyer for about £2 extra (and free delivery) last week.
So it shows you that these speakers are about the right price, but these are very good value for £10-£12!

Richersounds.... TCR I think.... Back in July last year ;-)
#11
Not with a tv ---its got diff connections
#12
Just got mine today from Amazon. Not bad for a tenner. Well balanced sound, though I am surprised that their isn't more bass from the subwoofer. Listening to music I prefer my very old Labtec 2.1 but did enjoy watching a movie with the 5.1 surround sound. The weak bass lets down the cinema experience but for a tenner you really can't complain. If you don't have 5.1 then go for them.

They have 3 jack inputs to connect to your PC's 3 jack outputs (cables supplied and colour coded). Phono outputs connect the speakers.

It's quite a heavy box and I am sure the delivery costs as much as the speakers.
#13
can this be used with a sony ps2?

i mean does it have the right connections for it?
#14
!!!!!! Can someone please reply asap, as I need to cancel my other otherwise!!!

I thought it would just connect to a headphone socket... Will it not do this? I don't want 5.1 sound, just the sound to come out of all of the speakers. Basically I want to connect it to my headphone socket on my tv, mp3 player, or whatever... Can I do this, or should I cancel?????
#15
Cancel, you will need more than 1 3.5mm audio jack to actually get the full benifit. Order yourselve a cheap 2.1 set, and you should be fine...but dont expect the quality/volume etc (especially on the tv) to be record breaking!
#16
But will it work just from 3.5mm jack to 3.5mm jack? I dont mind quality, just that it has sound coming out. i.e. Is there a 3.5mm jack on the back I can use instead of using the 5.1 ports? I simply want to put 3.5 to 3.5, straight into the headphone socket of my tv.
#17
I havnt got these speakers but im pretty sure you will need a minimum of 3 "headphone" jacks to actually use all 5 speakers.

Can someone else with these confirm??
#18
You could use a 2 way splitter 3.5mm jack. You could then connect 1 lead to the subwoofer & 1 lead to either the centre or rear speakers.

Hi, just tried these speaker with only the green stereo jack and they will only output sound to the front speakers. So you do need to use all 3 jacks from your soundcard.

Yeah, that's how these sort of speakers work unless they have an upmix function on them. Alternatively you could use 3 3.5mm jack splitters and 3 3.5mm to 3.5mm jack leads. Basically to replicate the same signal to all the speakers, wouldn't give you any better sound as it'd still be stereo but it would come out of all the speakers.

Or better still, why not just buy a 5.1 soundcard? It'll set you back a fiver which is the same as the jack splitters etc will cost. Then you'll get proper 5.1 sound and no signal loss due to connections through splitters.

Yeah you can, look at my post above (the first solution)
#22
that's could the cheapest 5.1 in the market.
#23
That's good english buddy!

What you could do is split the delay output with upsizer and then downsize the sound module with the other output syhthesizer. The upmix function could work but it is doubtful. Technically speaking, the best thing to do is use a manifold of objectives of multisyllabic, holophrastic verbalism for rendering the author's meaning indisputably precise yet simultaneously incomprehensible demonstrating through superior orthography and lexical awareness that the speakers are manifestly more erudite than the output. Disempowering intellectual challenge to the proponent's argument by using logomachinations to divert discussion to the establishment of the audio comprehension of the speakers as opposed to addressing the factual import of the treatise which, upon analysis, may well prove amphigorous.

Hope that helps!

Is that aimed at me???

If you look up the part I mentioned, a 3.5mm splitter then it'll all become very clear!
