They look a cracking pair of boots for £20 - but Mrs W has decreed that I am not allowed to buy as she thinks I'm already some kind of blokey Northern English Imelda Marcos :|
Heat added though

why not get a real pair of assault boots? they're only a £5-10 more and they are actually useful for outdoors (gortex etc etc).

They actually look good for £20, they look similar to the ones I have from River Island which cost over £70 oO

Seems they're not very good though according to Amazon's reviews.

Good stuff, ordered, many thanks OP. If they only last 12 months for work it's money well spent.

Agreed. Not expecting them to last as long as say 'cat' boots..

I'm the same, it's false economy. By buying yourself a good pair of leather boots from the start, you save money from buying x amount of **** pairs.

I learnt the hard way

very slow site

look similar to the ones i got from next for 90

any quidco?

Yes..

Wouldnt touch these with a barge pole after reading those Amazon reviews. False economy. Fair enough they are only £20 but so what if they fall apart after 2 wears?

Good price, Heat.

These could be better (good reviews) if your a 7 or 8, also available in brown.

It's not just about the false economy, even though I still wouldn't want to buy something you get a few wears out of. Synthetic shoes are more uncomfortable and sweat your feet more than their leather counterpart. Man made materials are flooding the sector and half the people dont even know what they are buying so as long as consumers continue to buy this tat, companies will keep churning it out. Years ago it was only really vegitarians that wore synthetic shoes, now more and more people are buying them without even realising.

Purchased a pair of "synthetic" shoes before (from priceless) and never again. They smell (plasticy/horrible) and sweat your feet so badly that I wore them once and never again. Even at £20 these are a waste (this from someone who resents buying shoes at all!).
#35
"enter valid UK postcode"

Aw **** me whats the point in this? What benefit could I possibly obtain by entering a fake postcode? Have to vote cold as the price is good, the product looks good, but the website will not let me proceed to checkout because of its **** postcode database, thus wasting my time.

To those that do manage to get through this be aware that Topcashback offers a better rate than quidco, think its about 10%

they look similar to the pair that were on offer the other day for a fiver!
#39
You can get a pair of leather German paras for ~£5 more than this or a pair of British hi-legs for £10-£15 more if people really must have leather.

I've got a pair of vege/pleather doc martins that are eight years old and are still wearable (but definitely seen better days). Last pair of leather (military) boots I had were unwearable by the time they were six years old.

The idea that leather boots are longer lasting is from the 70s - times have changed. My feet also don't sweat any more in pleather boots than they did in leather.

Plastic boots? No Chance......cold!
