It is Lacie. I believe with a WD drive in it too!
Great price. I don't know if I can afford though!?!? :(

What sort of stupid comment is that?

If you have summat useful to say about the drive (positive or negative) then please do so, I would be interested to hear.

But posting nonsense like you have is absolutely pointless

FWIW the lacie "porsche" cases are very compact and look great, but-

(a) they're plastic not metal

(b) there is a power switch but it's at the back, so maybe a bit difficult to reach depending on where you put the drive

(b) if you ever want to remove the drive (eg swap in a larger one) they are quite awkward to open - no screws, just a tricky snap-in system.

FYI...

I would not say this item is trash. However the build quality is not as good as other external hard drives I have seen. From the pictures it looks as though the case is made from aluminium, but it is mainly plastic.
Works well though.

got to be the best price for an external harddrive I've seen!

Sorry edi voting cold! Got a 250GB LaCie and has lost all the data twice and is very noisy. Forget the Porsche Design and go for another manufacturer - I certainly wouldn't purchase this brand again. :-(

I bought that a few days ago, might be a better choice.

Firstly can someone ban the person who just commented "trash" - waste of space on this forum.

Secondly this drive does NOT have a plastic case - or at least mine certainly doesn't!

Thirdly the build quality is excellent. Small, robust, stylish.

Very glad I got mine when the googlecheckout £10 off was still on!

Yeh, would the first commenter like to clarify why this is trash? I've been holding out on an external HD (this would be my first), and talking to a tech-expert friend who works with media - he told me to go for a lacie drive, as it's what they settled on to store all their media, and he reckons it's a first class choice! The info posted by warrenp & herzvanrental was much more constructive critisism.. as i'm looking for balanced views here..

Any other thoughts people?

Hey,
Does anybody know if ebuyer ships to other EU countries?
