This is my first post so be gentle. Had a look around and could not find it already posted.

I was looking for a NAS device to store my music and movies and to stream over my home wireless network to the PS3 and this one seems to do the job.

This is the best deal I could find.

Seems a pretty good price for a network 500.
Looks good. Will plunk down the cash unless someone says not to ^_^

Any opinions on this? Would go for 1tb but im not going to pay a fortune more.

Gigabit is a really good point, mine's only 100Mbps and it takes hours to copy large backups...

Great price for a NAS + 500GB! Voted hot... Oh, and welcome :-D
Before someone makes the usual stupid comment...

This is not just an external HDD, it's a NAS drive (Network Attached Storage) and has a gigabit ethernet connection (fastest you'll get on consumer network products).

There are cheaper options but for this particular model it looks well priced :)
Very well priced, I would go for it if I had the cash!! :p Very good deal!!
Does anyone know if this can be use NTFS when using it as a NAS?

Lots of them only allow FAT32 for NAS and NTFS will only work when using it via USB.
Looks good to me, only one left though.
Says FAT32 here -
Edit - that's referring to the USB side of things.
This was a hot price - now Oos.
Right now there's one left... Cancelled order probably. Be quick!
