You are saying its a NAS, not USB?
That's all White mans magic to me! At the rear of the unit is an Ethernet port and a dc connection! But AT&T
the front is a USB port! I'm on the iPhone just now or else I would have posted more!!!!
My next question is how do ivey my ps3 and laptop to pick this drive up?
It's a NAS drive for network storage. The USB on the front might be used for instant backup of USB flash drives or for connecting a printer to the network. It's very unlikely to be used for direct connection to a machine.
this is a direct link to the exact model on the lacie website!!!
Cut n paste is a god send on the iPhone now!!! :-)
Check out the following link for further details IF this is the same model that has been posted for this deal thread.

LaCie - LaCie Network Space

Cheers, Scotty Boy!
If this is a 500GB NAS, its a steal at this price.
Gonna grab one next time i'm in store!
Can the Hard drive be taken out the case, anyone know what brand may be used?
Say's £89.99 and out of stock on ASDA's website. Will still be popping in tomorrow to see if the local has any. Would think they would fly out the door at that price!
If it's the right model number it's £90 and out of stock on the Asda direct website

So a billy bargain if anyone finds one instore :) I'll have no such luck - never do with these things :p
My next question is how do ivey my ps3 and laptop to pick this drive up?

I know not of the procedure but it clearly states on the Lacie website that it supports XB360 and PS3 streaming type mullarkey :)
From the Lacie site it has a uPNP AV server built in so the Xbox and PS3 should see it automatically also it is DNLA complient which is good. Sound like a good deal now if only my local Asda has them at ths price i am tempted to get 2 as back up drives for my system.
going back to getting it to work. im currently on my laptop and ive found it in my network places but evrytime i try and open it it just opens windows media player!!
Does it have a WEB UI?

If it does, try logging into your router, and tracking down its IP, then enter it in Internet Explorer or whatever your browser may be. :)
Been after a nas drive for ages. Hopefully they'll have one in store.
Tempted to go to my local (Washington) now....hmmm.
Coventry havent got any...
that's a rediculously good price...i'm trying to sell one on fs/ft...guess that's over!!

I'll give you £34.50 :-D
not on offer at my local Asda (Grimsby)
There's one in my local but its £58.

God only knows why/how that happened...

Already have one of these unused in the house as well :p
got an sku code for us? so we can call and check?
Hey Frank,

Would you be kind enough to pick 2 drives up for me please? I will pay you for petrol and P&P aswell..

Let me know...

Many thanks.
got an sku code for us? so we can call and check?

Catalogue number:574-243
I Rang the Feltham branch but they had none, the guy did say they would be getting them soon and when I asked about price he said proberbly about £70 ish.
Just went to local 24hr ASDA and picked one up for £35 - had a post-it note with £70 on the front. Was the last one in the cabinet, not sure if they had any more out back as I forgot to ask in the heat of the moment
The electronics/entertainment section was upstairs and closed, but a very nice security guard went and got the drive just so I could get a price check

Reciept says Hard Drive 366061931387 - think this is the stock code if anyone needs it.
A good price for sure. Shall certainly be buying one of these in my local store if they have them.

Hot deal for me.
Unfortunately, I've just been down to my local store at Wolstanton, Stoke on Trent and there were none on display. Good luck to those that can get them - they are an absolute bargain at this price! I've been after one for a while...
for more detailed specs if anyones interested in hacking:

hot deal!

though on a technical note, you wont be able to hack this as much as the more expensive 320gb buffalo from ebuyer (£50)
None left at ASDA Robryston as i have just been to check :(
Was in my local (Blyth, Northumberland) earlier and no sign of this.

They do sell the USB-only version of this for £58/9 tho - don't get that mixed up with the network drive when you're calling and GL!
Lincoln have none left. Just a sticker on the shelf saying £35 to torture me. None in the back either and they don't know if they are going to get any more in. Voted hot anyway and good luck around the rest of the country.
called Lancaster/Morecambe store, they told me they never sell or stock any hard drive at all! im not driving more than 30mi for it then... hopefully some online retailer will pop up soon with similar offer :x
heat given
Nothing in Tamworth Ventura Park...
nipped in to ASDA at Portlethen and Garthdee (Aberdeen), but neither had anything except a taunting sticker on the wall!!
None in Spondon Derby and I also checked at the electrical desk - no more expected in. Looks like they are removing a lot of the electrical/PC related items and making that area smaller instore. There were 2 of the 160Gb and 320Gb models (USB) but they were much more expensive - £58 I think
None is ASDA Beddington Lane, Croydon; some very rude staff tho
for more detailed specs if anyones interested in hacking:

In case anyone is interested...

The wiki lists the 1TB as: SAMSUNG Model: HD103UJ Rev: 1AA0 - that's specifically a 1TB drive.

I've found one user review of the 500GB on CNET which says the 500GB is a: Samsung HD502IJ
