this looks pretty good for netbooks and laptops where you don't want a big stick sticking out that might get knocked and damaged, or damage the usb socket i wonder what the speeds are like

I personally think this is a much better option and is not much bigger!

You could get an 8gb micro sd card for a tenner then spend two quid on a tiny usb reader from dealextreme

Its actually minute in reality. Plus much better looking and cheaper! This one listed does stick out a bit and its not 'invisible'. If your transporting the netbook/laptop around you would still need to remove it to avoid any dmg to the drive/system just like any other usb stick.

Would not recommend this, did this last year at uni and was fine until I lost everything on the card after the reader become faulty. Only fine for occasional transferring/reading of cards I'd say.

the sandisk one is much bigger

i agree with sabz786...the micro SD card holders break very easily. Its all about getting good deals but you still get what you pay for.

I own a few lacie products and have never had any problems unlike some of the stuff purchased from dealextreme.

That Sandisk one is HUGE mate!!!!

Compared to the LaCie one that Sandisk one is like the monolith from 2001.
