This review on amazon would suggest not very

its good but its sooooooooo loud. just the fan makes so much noise. furthermore when its searching for something it makes a horrible noise. even worse it doesnt turn off when your computer turns off. so you have to turn it on and off manually so you can just sleep!

looks like ill leave it then! voted for the price though :)

Good price but Lacie drives are notoriously unreliable. Buyer beware!

doesnt look like a porsche to me!!

old post but good deal. i got one and it is fairly loud but then i am not gonna sit there with it on all the time so doesnt really matter.

I have 2 of these and they're pretty quiet.
just ordered a 3rd, I use them as back up drives.

I have the 250Gb version which I got for about this price a year or two ago.

No fans in the one i had, and this enclosure looks identical, so whisper quiet, I mean far quieter than the rest of your PC, and I'm very noise aware (must be my big ears).

Also still working perfectly after a 18 months, and lots of travelling around in my messenger bag, home for christmas, over to my girlfriend's house, that sort of thing, totally solid.

Does get warm though.

Good price but quoting 4 to 6 weeks for delivery.
I bought the Western Digital 500gb item from Amazon highlighted on here a few weeks ago. Nice bit of kit

Nice find Ray :)

thanks !

Bought one of these about 3 months ago and mine has just died last night. Seriously pissed off as it had a load of data on there which i didn't have backed up anywhere else.....but then again i guess ya dont expect it to die after 3 months of buying. wouldn't touch on these drives again.

Good Price, but look at the delivery time.

Availability: Usually dispatched within 4 to 6 weeks. Dispatched from and sold by Amazon.co.uk.

these are brilliant drives.
great price. well built. quiet. looks far better than anything else on the market (personal preference I guess though)
I'd have no hesitation in buying another. In fact I probably will seeing as I'm running out of backup space! Oh for 1TB for this price though!!!!

Actually they were designed by F.A. Porsche.
they're stunning drives, they're amazingly compact, almost no bigger than the hard drive itself.
Personally I thinkt he difference between these and the WD MyBook series are like the difference between an mp3 player and an ipod.
they both do the same thing but the Lacie does it with more style.

Back at £68.13 delivered, if you don't mind the stock delay.

Bear in mind these drives arent the most reliable...
