Thanks, I just bought one after Xmas on Amazon, think it's 27 pound for 125ml. The red bottle smells wonderful too.

Thanks! Just nabbed one.

Please have a read of the reviews tho. Some customers are saying that the fragrance is a fake and are very disappointed with their purchase.

One of my favourites - just bought a 100mL bottle for about £28 in Newcastle airport, considered this as I have an Amazon voucher burning a hole in my pocket, but not liking the potential "fake" comments. Why aren't they being wrapped in cellophane, easy to do even for fakers if they've gone to the effort of replicating the bottle/printing competently.

Spotting fake Pharmaceuticals is part of my job, i'm quite confident I could spot a fake side-by-side with the known real one (lettering size/space/font on both the bottle and the box, knurling density on the cap etc) - curiosity is starting to get the better of me. Some GC analysis in the QC lab with the known good one would tell for sure.

54 bad ratings in one month, mainly claims of fairness, smell not lasting long or product never received. I wonder if P&Gs manufacturing plant in Seaton Delaval (near Newcastle upon Tyne) has gotten wind of this place. They produce Lacoste/Boss etc fragrances under license.

thats about 0.4% of the sales in a month, it can be fake and may not be fake only the company selling it has the actual details, not every one is satisfied with what they buy as some expect more for what they pay as it does really retail for more then £40 in high street retailers and this perfume rarly goes down in price

You're right, it is a small percentage, but how many of those sales will have gone to people as presents, who might not necessarily have experience of the product before to know if it's weaker than normal or doesn't last as long?

Too many people claiming fake for my liking. Lack of shrinkwrapping rings alarm bells for me too.

I've always had shrink-wrapping on mine, whether it be from a department store or the airport's duty free shop.

Yes,Lacoste pour homme, it's the only Lacoste variant I buy regularly, never had it supplied not shrink wrapped (nor any other popular make of aftershave like RL Red, Gucci Guilty pour homme etc). From a counterfeit point of view, shrink wrapping is probably the easiest thing to do (unless there are some security logo printed ribbons running through it.

For the real deal Lacoste, it's a long lasting scent, if those complaining about short duration of smell, if they are talking from experience from knowing the real one, they may be onto something. Mimicking a genuine premium smell isn't so difficult (lots of successful £5 copies that do a good job at first sniff) - it's getting them to last, and fade out correctly in their multiple main and background notes.
