Now then this looks like a spanking deal! Sure beats the '£10 for a ride in a Vauxhall Nova' I was bought for my birthday. Lousy step-mum..

Your mum only charged me a fiver for a ride in her Nova

Always fancied doing one of these and just swerve off the track into the nearest tree just so I could sit in the pub and tell people I wrote off a Lambo.... ah could dine out on that story for years :)

Nice one the badger! £49.15 with code!

why pay this when you can just befriend JFK and get a spin in his range of luxury cars?
#8
I did a Lambo drive at the Prodrive track three weeks ago. Quite well organised, and they didn't keep you hanging about too much. The 4WD free drive was good fun too, and they let my 5 year old go along.

Personaly, I've ticked that one now, and if had £50 to treat myself, would much prefer go-karting.

Mostly because JFK has a fair ole hole in his head and is probably quite decomposed now - call me picky but I hate it when my mates stink out the pub due to rotting flesh......

Maybe you meant the cat in the hat?

Anyone kow if any of these events are available in the South West? Midlands is just a bit too far really.
#11

£55 for 4 laps is not very good value

I have booked a VXR track day (2 in fact) , They originally sold out in a couple of hours but they have added another day which has been on sale a week, but they haven't put an e-mail out so not many people know about it.

If you are free on July 15th for £95 you get half a day of fun in VAuxhall's VXR range at Thruxton, not a lambo but I have manage 115mph round the Thruxton track last time in an Astra. I also managed 25 laps in the 90min session. They have put on the website you get 3 hrs of track time but for the past 3 years it was split in 2 sessions 90 mins on the track and 90 mins doing time trials and fun things like being driven at 45 degrees on 2 wheels.

So if their website is correct it may mean 3 hours of track time.

They have an instructor in each car, in the past you got 2 laps in a car then you jump into a different one so you get to have a go in the whole vxr range, even the VXR8 - 6.2L V8, too much power in my view, prefered the Astra.

It is not a special offer but for £95 it is a bloody bargain, I worked out I used £27 of fuel in the 90 mins, plus 1-1 tuition and wear and tear on tyres etc and Thruxton is a decent track, it is the only racing track in the UK without a straight but has sweeping curves.

Today at home (I live in an exclusive bit of Cheltenham) Ive driven past a brand new Ferrari, a Lambo, the aforementioned Vauxhall VXR8, an Audi R8, 3 Astons (inc a vantage), a Merc AMG and a bus. I really need to be introduced to the men who drive these things......
#18
Oh, and a few months ago it was Jeremy Clarkson in his Ford GT. I was dying to give him a little nudge ;-)
#19
Good deal! Heated.

Heh heh ... take a loo roll with you ;-)

good deal but look at previous thrill experience threads - people have said its a complete waste of money as they never actually let you floor it.

I say get yoru best suit on and head on over to the ferrari garage for a test run :p

Jeremy Clarkson hasn't got a Ford GT - he sold it a couple of years ago

Now ... back under your bridge

And stay there cos Jezza doesn't live in Cheltenham.
Ok I know that you didn't say that he does but it was implied.

What's so special about Cheltenham then? I don't recall seeing too many supercars driving along The Bishops Avenue where the house prices are a tad higher than Cheltenham.

Thanks, but I'll take a Lambo over a Vauxhall any day of the week. If the Lambo was a hundred quid, and the VXR a tenner (which it should be) I'd still take the Lambo.

I doubt it, he got rid of the Ford GT a long time ago because it had too many problems, why lie?

I was driven in the Lamborghini Murcielago 670 - 4 SV up Goodwood the other week, OK, but nothing to write home about.

So did you buy the 4 laps then?
#28
This is something I'd be willing to fly over from n.Ireland for.Would east midlands airport be close to the track that's on the page there?,thanks to anyone that helps
#29
Freeeeeezing - you get longer in the seat and probably have more fun on a Lambo test drive - I know I certainly did on my 2.......

And to those who say Lambo's are nothing special it would be interesting to see what you drive as these cars are very good indeed!!!!!

And no, i don't own a Lambo.

Thanks Paul, just booked a session at Thruxton in the vauxhalls. 3 hours on track in a selection of VXRs for £95, beats 10 mins in a lambo.

Some of the events are for owners only, but the Thruxton dates are for any driver. :-D

Roll on 15th July.

Maybe you didn't like it but it was being compared to a Vauxhall.

And dealers like HR Owen have ways of determining if a person asking for a test drive are a serious prospect with the means to buy, or not. So test drives are not available to many people.
#34
vx denied me a test drive in the astra vxr, audi let me drive an S3 but i ended up with an older S4 as i saw one outside and loved it.

lambo is nice but agreed nothing special, would prefer something a bit more raw. atom, zonda, c6 corvette

You should have gone into the showroom wearing a cap and slurping on a McDonalds drink, then you would have got the test drive.
