Thanks, ordered 16 :)
I agree, there are lots of cheaper alternatives

Ive tried a few but these have really hit the mark

It has become apparent to me that the clams from LED manufacturers about luminosity, equivalent halogen wattage, watts consumed, colour temperature, and beam angle have been embellished some what.

I decided to try more expensive bulbs and can honesty see the difference.

I must say, id be more than happy yo use the Screwfix bulbs for living rooms etc where a strong light output is not essential.

Hope this deal helps those wanting the Philips bulbs

355lm is equivalent to about 30w halogen

50w halogen is about 638 lumens

Most cheap 50W GU10 halogens, actually produce more around 450-500 lumens, a good equivalent is perhaps this one http://www.screwfix.com/p/philips-halogen-lamp-gu10-480cd-50w-pack-of-5/27069#product_additional_details_container

From my own experience, my 450 lumens produce roughly the same output ,measured by a photographic light meter, as the 50W GU10s (supplied with the fittings, so probably cheap), but the LEDs appear brighter for whatever reason, I put that down to colder whites feeling brighter.

If people are after dimmable warmer light LED GU10s then Costco are doing packs of 2 bulbs for £8.38. Each bulb is 400 lumens, 6 watt and 2700k
