Are the pieces bolted down in any way please?

I was just wondering if it would fall over if a child decided to climb on it.

Thanks

Also, what sort of foundation have you guys who have this built for this?

Great price, almost purchased one last summer for about £280 (I think) but decided to hold off until this year, glad I did.

Great find OP and thanks.

Hi the pieces are not bolted on mine the pieces support themselves. You could if you wish mortar the pieces together which may give it more strength (each piece is made from concrete and small steel fibres)...They are seriously heavy, and it takes a lot of effort to put that chimney piece on.

Even though it would take a fair bit to knock this thing over I still wouldn't recommend kids climbing on it because if for some reason it did topple the consequences don't bear thinking about. (Sausages everywhere!!)

I had mine previously built on concrete pavers which was part of my patio, but then moved it and had a concrete base put in which was strengthened with some steel rods...I then built wooden decking around this so it looks as though it is sat on the decking...You will need a strong and firm base for this.
Hope this helps

Call those 'features'?

My in-laws have one of these. It weighs a ton, you have to build and paint it yourself, and it looks like it's made of breeze blocks. They have it standing on a patio against a breezeblock wall and I suppose it suits them, but you need space, and don't expect to move it once it's up. I think it's an eyesore myself, and totally OTT for the job, but don't tell them I said so.
#21
Must admit I thought Breezeblocks with a grill across when I saw it but seems like a good price if it is your kind of thing so I'm not voting either way
#22
what a great deal. lets hope we dont get an eff/off email from debenhams in a day or so. SHD1 for free delivery of course. i'd want £99 just for delivering this monstrosity.

I thought it looked like one of those little chapels they put at the side of the road in europe where someone has died in an accident:whistling:

Careful people don't start laying flowers at the base of it.

#28
Can anyone actually post the B&Q link as the only one I can find is £269?
#29
Good deal. But i generally prefer one with a lid so you can control the flame and temp.
#30
B&Q only price match on in store items and the cheaper item has to be within a 10 mile radius of the store, so the best price is Debenhams £95.99 delivered if using Quidco and free del code.
#31
Many thanks, been after one of these at a good price for ages :)
#32
The one at B&Q is a different model anyway looking at the picture. I can't find this exact model anywhere else.
#33
Tempted, but not positive. Its not exactly pretty, and what would you paint it with? I think I prefer the mid section on the B&Q one, but not enough to pay their price!

I suppose I was going to spend 50 quid on a normal BBQ til I was sure where I wanted to build one, so this may do.

EDIT: Bit small cooking area too? Only 47cm x 32cm

Only because they don't last...they're fine when new :)
#37
This BBQ's will require mortar and white paint to complete assembly (find it on the site).

Tempted, but too much to do.
#38
Lol.

Even so, I usually go for BBQs with lids to help regulate the heat. Not used an open one in years, so any input would help.
#39
Wow.....it looks really nasty and cheap.

Personally, i wouldnt buy it even if it were £20. Too much effort involved setting it up, and it will be a right ar5e disposing of a few yrs down the line too.

In practice its no better a bbq than the basic ones - just a charcoal pit with a raised cooking grille above.

Unless you actually like the design, youd be better waiting for the spring/summer bbq sale wars to begin!

My thoughts exactly, I think it looks a bit of an eyesore to be honest, the b&q one looks pretty tidy though and a lot nicer although it is £180 more expensive. Think I'll hang on and wait for the summer...
