Excellent deal.

You might prefer to forgo the grass trimmer and get the slightly more powerful hedge trimmer - also half price - for £17.49.

Provided of course, you can find one in stock.

Thanks, just snagged myself a set.

I picked these up for £30 a few months back. They're not bad - I don't have a particularly big garden so they works well for me. The strimmer gets through the trimming line in no time at all though. The hedge trimmer is pretty vicious.

The strimmer strims - not much more to be said. I've only used it to cut grass, and it works fine.

The hedge trimmer has quite a long blade - about 50cm and is sharp. It works well, but then as it's new, it should. I've only used it to cut ivy and bushes with twiggy stems and leaves. Normal garden stuff - nothing more than about 1cm thick.

I don't expect either of these to last more than a couple of years, but by then hopefully I'll be a millionaire and have a team of gardeners to look after such trivialities. Come on, EuroMillions.

I bought the lawnmower with free grass strimmer from Argos last year. Both were the biggest load of c rap i have ever had the misfortune to use. the lawnmower couldnt cope with anything over 4 days of growth and just clogged. the strimmer left me feeling as though i had been using a pneumatic drill in the mines for 20 years and had whitefinger.

I have invested in slightly more expensive branded items this year and wish i hadnt wasted my money on the argos tat last year. We live, we learn....

My advice: dont touch this make.

Blueroo - yes, I would agree, invest in a decent mower. I wouldn't buy a cheapy mower, but for the amount of strimming/trimming I do, these are fine. If they break within a year, take em back! :-)
