100W RMS is pretty decent for the price, this is better suited for those who want to plug it into their tv but can't make full use of a 5.1 system. Price is £27.99, but if buying alone they will slap on an extra ~£13, so buy it with something else (or buy 2!). Also seem quite big, 54cm tall, so maybe better bass? Most of the reviews seem to be good, but take that with a pinch of salt as some websites delete bad reviews.

Delivery is £8.10 if you use the supersaver option (in all cases i've received the following day anyway on about six orders using supersaver)

any good for sony 26 tv.

The cable shown in the picture is your standard 3.5mm jack, if your tv has like a headphone out (if you can plug in a set of earphones/headphones and hear sound then yes). If your TV doesn't have this, but has a phono left and right out (red and white sockets) then you can buy a cable (which may also be supplied) to plug it in. Just look for an audio out on your tv.

EDIT: If your question was would they sound good on your tv, i'd say yes, as most tvs don't have very strong bass (due to lack of space), so it would be a large improvement.

I'm almost tempted myself by these, now if I can just convince myself I have a use for them they will get ordered!

I've also got a decent set of 2.1 speakers that my ears can't actually fault (not saying they're perfect, just I can't find anything wrong), so i'm also on the fence trying to justify buying another set.
#5
so there ok for that tv, any good for xbox 360

For the price, i'd say it's better than anything else, as a 5.1 system with an opotical in costs quite a bit more, and a regular 5.1 set would not connect up porperly, allowing you to only be able to use 2 of the five speakers. For the xbox 360, you would probably get more realistic-sounding explosions, 'deeper' sounding music etc, and (i think) you can return them if you aren't completely satisfied with it, from ebuyer. From a personal experience an external speaker system is quite a bit better than standard tv speakers.

I clearly mention the delivery charge in the title and description, but I wasn't intending this to be seen as a standalone purchase, seening as ebuyer is quite a large site, I figured many people would be maybe buying a tv, monitor or laptop from them, so this would be decent to just throw in the basket

As for comments from OnTheBallCity and jezzery; I had a look at some 26" sony TV's and it looks like they have a 3.5 mm audio jack, so all you need to do is place on speaker on either side of your tv, plug it into the mains electricity and into the tv, the audio should then all be channeled into the external speakers and you're done (hoped I helped), and jezzery - many speakers have annoying LED lights, but as far as I can tell, these ones are reasonable small and can be covered with a small piece of black masking tape :whistling:

hmm look ok, wud like to know if anyone has any comments on the quality. i only trust richersounds for my audio stuff usually.

The reviews on ebuyer say that the sound quality is good, as I don't have a pair myself, can't help you there. As far as I know richersounds probably gives better sound quality, but the price is also higher:oops: Again, not speaking from experience, but 100W RMS is pretty :p

sounds good -- richer can cost lots and may be old stuff

Forgive me if I’m incorrect but isn’t it forum policy to add the P+P to the purchase price. Not just say Plus P+P:) I quite like the look of these but I’m not spending another £22.00 or paying £8.00 P+P:roll:

I just wish we could have the all-inclusive price in the title, and the stand alone price above the Go to deal button. This would make life so much easier. I’ve lost count of the times I’ve had to open an account with an online retailer just to find out the P+P charges on something I’ve seen on HotDeals

Rant over:oops:

What is the brand of these speakers..
#16
For the money they look good. At best they will sound like a decent set of PC speakers. My advice would be to get on ebay and look for separates systems that are for local pick up only. These invariably will sound better than these and can be had very cheaply if the seller is bundling speakers with amps etc and not prepared to post.

Obviously the styling will be less modern than these however.

So it's nothing to do with the internal distortion then?

I like the look of these speakers wat about quality of these anyone have a set yet?

but wat really annoys me is people who whine and moan over the pnp not being in the title!

it clearly says 27.99+ delivery and as ebuyer offer different postage options this was probably the right move and these are prob the same people who moan about people not takin the time to search the forum! Thats wat grinds my gears lol

I don't see why the OP can't just put the whole inclusive price up. Saves any moaning or confusion.

not bad active speakers

heres a review from amazon

First of all the dimension mentioned are wrong the actual dimensions are
490(height) x 195 (width) x 250 (depth). They are nearly the size of my CPU. The build quality is somewhat appalling such as scratches screws not tightened and led light not working. Despite that the actual sound quality is decent and loud. The woofers do not distort at high volume and is able to produce deep end low frequency bass. Music should be heard loud when using these, every pin drop can be heard clearly and explosions are felt pretty well. I would recommend these to most people, but beware you may have to fix minor objects. They were worth every penny. However if you are really a bass freak then try a 5.1 system. These speakers are nearly equivalent of a 4.1 in terms of sound production not surround sound.

ebuyer offer too many different delivery options in my opinion, plus the fact that everything ive ordered ive used supersaver delivery and received net day (except once during a postal strike), this isnt just on things sent Via normal post too its on larger bulkier couriered items too including a telescopic ladder (which they dont sell anymore unfortunately!).

But it is good practice to include the cheapest delivery cost on items because you cant get them for the item price alone you will pay more one way or another, unless its so close to the £50 free delivery point it would be cheaper to add a filler item, in which case people usually then come on and point out some good things to bulk the order up with.
#22
presumably because a title which says "2x50W speakers, £27.99, or £36 with saver delivery, or £40something with courier, unless you live in shetlands, in which case you will be paying a bit extra, and if you buy enough then theres a free delivery option, with negotiation they can be del;ivered by zeppelin for a further surcharge, etc..." is a bit long.

They look good, but very imposing. and they have Phono inputs on the back (and seemingly a phono pass-through as well, which some people might find useful). They seem to be a cheap pair of powerful speakers which will give you as much volume as anyone could reasonably expect from anything but an expensive hifi.

So is it better to get these or the creative 5.1 posted yesterday i think it was?

A whopping £27.55 for delivery to NI. I'll be voting this cold.

All depends what you will be using them for and where you want to place them. The 5.1 creatives are really best for pc's only, these are all rounders though, so unless you really need the 5.1 i'd say these.

May I suggest before posting again you read forum policy on including P+P in the title It’s people like you who really irritate me:roll:

Its the same as including cashback in the price from such as quidco, as some people dont use them for some reason, although when I take quidco in account its as a bonus rather than a guaranteed given return:thumbsup:
The only exception is a manufacturers cashback (such as HP and Canon have been doing) as these are guaranteed returns so long as you order the right item that the cashback applies too.

except, as someone pointed out, the title you suggest is *wrong*. it is only the delivery if you happen to live on the UK mainland. Postage to Northern Ireland, or Scottish Islands, will be highher. is there a reason you don't think these people should be considered? (admittedly, NI isn't UK, but the scottish isles are)The title as it stands however, while perhaps less convenient for you, has the distinct advantage of actually being accurate.

Maybe I should stop posting any deals in future... it's hardly like I'm losing out... and the abuse I'm getting for a measly title, were any confusion in postage would be solved by taking 10 seconds to read the description.

i appreciate you posting the deal, and i understood it from the start!
I needed new active bookshelf speakers for my decks setup :)
Saved me a ton of cash as they usually £90+ for a decent set of active speakers.
Thanks Alot REP+

Not moaning in the slightest about the OP, but 50w RMS is 50w RMS, so by other comments afterwards saying its 100w cos there are two speakers is wrong surely?

And anyway, cant beleive the attitude of some of the seasoned posters on this thread. Read the bloody deal for Christs sake. If it annoys you, move on!
