I bought one of these when they did them for £8 and thought that was an absolute bargain, this is an exceptional deal and I might buy another one just because I can! Light itself is very good, compact unit and much better looking than the standard cheap security lights.

Perfect! I need a few of these... reserved for collection! Thanks tazul1988 :)

Cheap ok but expensive to run as not low energy bulbs.
#4
Don't know to get these or LED ones
#5
This would need to be on for ~8 hours to consume 1kwh (1 unit). Depending on your electricity tariff, that would be around 14p. Not really expensive, and it won't be on for anywhere near that time per day

I'm getting 2 of these to give my Dad decent light when reversing out of his drive at night. Ever since the council installed LED street lights you can't see a thing!

its a fair amount over a year tho. even if it 5p a day it tots up over the year and when you consider the bulbs are expensive and dont last as long as the energy efficient ones this does seem such a good long term choice.

But its not going to be 5p per day given it would need to be on 2.5 hours per night for that to be charged based on the 14p figure above unless you have a very busy area you are lighting. Also LED flood lights are more expensive to start with and I haven't found the traditional halogen bulbs to be that unreliable. That's before we go near whether LED lights are as good as traditional bulbs.

Something like this:

5 X 150 WATT TUNGSTEN HALOGEN SECURITY FLOODLIGHT LAMPS/ BULBS 78MM R7S CAP
#18
R7S could be replaced with an LED variant like this:

R7S 5W 24 LEDs 5050 SMD Corn Bulb Light replacement Flood Light Bulb Lamp 78mm

But I've no idea if the quality or performance would be anything like the halogen bulb.
