Laphroaig select @ £23.99 at Amazon . whisky

Some can be sniffy about this being a NAS but I enjoyed the one bottle I purchased. Plenty of the classic Laphroaig peat still packed in

This is actually a really good price. I am waiting for the Quarter Cask to drop in price as that is something else! Not tried this...got the 10 year last week at Asda which is still £26.50...Can't comment on the taste of this one but so far love Laphroaig.I will give you some heat!

The select isn't great. Had big hopes for it but I found it had a sickly taste. Personal taste I guess. I to am waiting on the Quater Cask. It went down to £25 last year for about a month. It fantastic. I'm down to my last two bottles. oO

I have enjoyed Laphroaig for nigh on 40 years, but this disappointed me. How you can call something Select, intending to mean special and then deliver this is somewhat misleading. Neither fish nor fowl for me, but each to their own. A bit like saying you love a good curry, and then buying a Vesta Beef Curry☺

Laphroaig under £25 is a deal. Drink and enjoy I say, but then it is one of my favourites. Not to everyones taste I realise.

Agreed with the other comments, I love Laphroaig, but this Select just doesn't hit the mark. Whilst Laphroaig talk about the Quarter Casks, and Sherry Butts and 1st fill ex-bourbon that goes in to it, I can't pick up any of it. It just seems to lack the body and depth of all the other Laphroaigs, taking away everything that is good and just leaving behind the medicinal nose and a thin mouth feel. It's not even as if it tastes young and fiery, it's just as if someone in marketing has decided to try and make Laphroaig more "accessible" without understanding why people like it! Like a cheap reproduction print of a oil master!

The quarter cask as a no-age-statement is a very different wee beastie, and if that was under £25 I'd be as happy as a sheep in a peat bog!
