Good deal but refurbished so a bit of a gamble as to condition.

Great for the money though. Voted hot.

All the cheap laptops are Refurb and only have 3 Months RTB Warranty. Neutral.

Just to let you know Laptops are used / Refurb, with 3month Warranty DOA warranty on battery.

Excellent deals, I'm guessing refurbished because of the spec/price.

According to PCPro that 12 incher is 6 years old!

dell d400 look like my dell x300 i think they are a few years old

For ~£300 you can buy a brand new, modern spec laptop with a 1 Year (+) Warranty. Infact this is cold.

this would be an exceptional hot deal (i have a dell lattitude myself) and they are excellent to work with!

but!

should you ever need to format your computer after a serious virus infection for instance, without the recovery discs or optical drives (CDrom) to install with, you will end up with scrap.

With Dell as with many branded PC's, it will only accept dells own recovery disc and and not generic/genuine windows XP that you can buy from shops!

tempted myself but holding back because of the lack of this!

That is incorrect, if you have a full retail verson of xp, it will install fine on any machine, you may need to install the specific dell drivers afterwards if xp doesnt already include them.

p.s. recovery discs is another matter and you will need dell recovery cd's.

The first Bigpockets old & patched up second-hand dross of the New Year, no doubt many more to come :-(

Illustrates the only drawback of the Ignore function I have found so far - I don't see the ordinary posts but unfortunately I still have to suffer the original posting of "deals" like this junk posted by those on my Ignore list :-(

It should do - you may need to do some more research, such as are your BIOS settings currently allowing your pc able to boot from the cd drive before it goes to boot from the internal hdd?

It really does work - a retail version of any major operating system, such as Linux, OS X or Windows can usually be strongarmed onto most PC setups.

My Dell 9" netbook is running OSX, for instance, and that netbook doesn't even come with a CD ROM drive to help things along!

Always weary of refurbs but if you're willing to take the risk you'll struggle to find a hooter deal... For now at least!
