Thanks trebor - is this DSG up to their usual of having good prices but none available anywhere again?
#6
Great price and I was tempted. I checked, Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Hull, Stoke, Birmingham, Sunderland, Glasgow, Aberdeen, London, Bristol, Southampton and Norwich. I anyone finds it any place else let me know.

Yes it is, they should be hauled up by TS for doing this constantly.
#8
Yes .... i also used every town in the UK and found nothing! so i opted for free delivery, its after Christmas delivery, but will there be many better deals in the sales? no queues either!
Quidco is 5% dont forget, no vouchers seemed to work!:santa:
#9

For what? Selling something cheap?
#11
I seen this advertised at the start of last week and they had no stock then.Nothing against them selling them cheap if they have something to sell in the first place.Merry Christmas DSG Ho Ho Ho:santa:

Looking at reviews around the net, it seems to fall down on the graphics side. CNET review suggesting the ATi M200 chipset not fast enough to run full screen video yet alone games. I guess you get what you pay for.

Yep, the graphics is the let down, but for general pc work its fine (£299 remember), for a gamer £700 seems to be the start for a decent graphics chipset, this post was more about hoping someone could get better! It can always go back to the store if something better turns up in the 'Sales'! And yes 'Offer of the Day' website has had this posted for over a week with constant 'out of stock' ..... i believe its called 'eye candy loss leading get em in the store scamming' or summat!
:)
#14
Cold!!!! No stock anywhere, usual DSG b********!!!:x
#15
The press were saying last week that they had a glut of laptops and overbought .if that the case where are they hiding them ?
#16
My order was cancelled. Shame. Apparently no stock for delivery...

In my opinion, it's a bit of a disgrace to do such a thing, and I'll let Curry's know!
#17
Can't see why it's being voted hot if you can't actually buy one anywhere!
#18
it's .97p item meaning it's an end of line clearance item, it will be very difficult to find any left over anywhere!
#19
When will you all learn - this is standard practice fo DSG - put something on their website with maybe 1 or 2 in the whole country, then use the publicity from site like HUKD and MSE to generate web traffic and hopefylly other sales of their generally overpriced kit.

Really, we should stop posting such deals. Yes if you got in very very quick and got the only one out there then *you* got a good deal but we should not give free publicity to DSG for these really underhand tricks. We are playing into their hands

just my 2p - rant over

EliTom

BTW voted cold for above reasons
#20
Yep, knobber, we know that, it was posted (if you read the posts **** head) to see if there was any better spec for the price, it dont matter none now .... as Currys cancelled the order!! and i wait for the Apple Mac Expo on January 15th ish to buy a proper computer like, innit.
Its called commerce, not charity.
#21
DSG are a joke. It's easy to put something up dirt cheap if you have no stock to sell isn't it? :x
It's a disgraceful practice, and well below the belt.
#22
Oh what a surprise - out of stock EVERYWHERE - do you think the back office web team at these stores reduce the price then buy them themselves immediately and then leave on the site???
#23
Well I voted it cold. A deal can't be hot if it was never available to begin with.
#24
Its now off their website. I spotted this last week but did not bother after trying the web order then calling Curry's who said "we won't be getting them back in, its going because of the 99 or 97p at the end, however there maybe a store somewhere that might have it" I said oh good then I will buy it, here take my money, no sir I can't tell you where it is on my system!!

*u*k me, how do they make a profit????
#25
Instead of moaning in posts ....... do what i did ............. take it to the top!
