good price useful when setting laptop down on soft furnishings which can smother airways.

"1 port usb hub" is not a hub :)

No doubt someone will be here soon to say that these will wreck your laptop by plugging the fan into a USB port as they have wrecked theirs by doing this.....

Personally never encountered any such problems.....unlike problems caused by an overheating laptop......hot for me

True a 1 port USB hub is not a hub, it does make up for the loss of a usb port where the cooler is plugged in

description says 2 title says 1 lol i just copied the title :D

The "1 port" means that it uses your laptop usb port but provides additional one...
and £3 is super cheap
#6
Problem with the hub is that it will not be useful for much more than a mouse or external keyboard as it will be drawing much of the laptops USB port power for the fan .... so no good for usb powered HDD's

Is this designed to be comfortable between a lap and the laptop or is it only effective on a level surface? Also, I've bought the "up to" 17 inches and assume this works for 15.6" as well.....it just seems odd that there's another product stating up to 15.6"

Thanks for the find tince.

I've been after one of these for a few weeks. This looks pretty good, so I've ordered one.

thats a totally different product mate, i just added it instead of posting 2 deals. Up to 17" is bigger overall so probably a bit better, as it will cover more area. i think most of these cooling pads are meant for level surface use but im not sure, for £2.99 you can't go wrong. :)

Simple solution buy a £3 lap tray & voila a level surface to put it on ;-)

Anyone have this and can provide feedback? I already have a Cooler Master U3. At £2.99 I'm tempted to buy as a spare.

I think I'll go for the 15" one as it has a 200mm fan whereas the 17" stand is a 120mm fan. The main reason though is that I think my MacBook Pro is too small for the 17" and it would sit on the mesh instead of the rubber and the mesh would leave scratches all over the bottom. Might get the 17" one for my X1 though, it doesn't need extra cooling but alteast this will raise it from the carpet a bit.

Which one should I buy...hmmm

I have a 15inch laptop but the 17 inch coller looks nicer

Anyone else getting an SSL error when they click on "Buy it Now"?

I'm using Chrome for Android and it says:
You attempted to reach checkout.payments.ebay.co.uk, but the server presented a certificate issued by an entity that is not trusted by your computer's operating system. This may mean that the server has generated its own security credentials, which Chrome cannot rely on for identity information, or an attacker may be trying to intercept your communications.

But the padlock says the certificate was issued by VeriSign. Very confusing.

Thanks..

Word of warning.....the negative feedback is really bad on the people selling this.

(Having said that I still ordered one.....so good luck)

Heat for a decent basic cooler. I bought this one for my 17" laptop for £8.55.
You can adjust the stand angle to give a more natural position for typing, it has anti-slip tabs and five fans (my laptop's vents are weirdly spaced so it's perfect for it), you can change the fan speed, and it has an excellent max airflow of 74cfm.

Hi, what's the risk of a usb cooler? Thinking of buying one for Laptop
#25
tempted by the 15" one as it says 200mm fan :D (17" one says 120mm)

cheapest 200mm pc fan I can find on ebay from uk is £6
#26
Ordered 15.6" one. Had one before with 3 fans all stopped working, but at this price can't complain!

Haha I have the same, the u3 is not ideal for your lap, thinking of getting this too now

Where is the 15" one? Sorry if being stupid, can't seem to see it?!?

Its ok panic over, I found it!! Heat from me, thanks! Need something to cool down my Macbook when playing Civilisation!

Get your laptop cleaned - then you won't need a cooler!

have you played games on a laptop, it naturally runs hotter. therefore a cooler can bring the temperatures down, especially if the intake fans are on the bottom
#34
I made my own using a ring binder, it's really easy. Tape the edges together and you have a nice incline for your keyboard which is suitable for putting on your lap as well on a flat surface. You can also cut holes according to where your vents are and add your own mains powered fan (USB draws power and adds heat) to increase airflow.

...send them an email saying you didn't get one, can't hurt to try.

...I got one of these and it's really quite poor. The fan is too close to the power cable resulting in an awful rattling sound...I've just dismantled it and added a piece of neoprene to lift the fan away from the obstruction, bit better now although how the hell the pathetic airflow from this could cool anything is beyond me! You can hardly feel anything when you put your hand on the mesh. :(

...my laptop runs extremely hot too! oO
