hi, don't suppose you could tell me whether these would fit in my travelmate 2001lc? thanks
#2
would it fit acer travelmate 5720 people brought in the recent deal ?
#3
go to http://www.crucial.com/uk/ and use their memory finder thing to find out what memory you need/can use.

Then go buy it elsewhere cheaper :whistling:

A simple way of checking is to use Crucials memory tool to either scan your system or allows you to select model and tells you what memory is compatible. http://www.crucial.com/store/drammemory.aspx

Will fit the 5720

Won't fit the 2000 Series being older you need DDR Ram not DDR 2
200-pin SODIMM DDR PC2700 is needed for the Travelmate 2000 series

don't have laptop with me at the moment, can't scan it, would this fit to DELL XPS 1530?
#6
they have 2gb sticks for the same price too, definately worth the upgrade to 4GB, even if the OS only recognises 3.5GB it made a massive difference for me, and yes this should fit the XPS 1530

XPS 1530 Manual, "Your computer has two user-accessible SODIMM sockets that can be
accessed from the bottom of the computer." thought there're 4 .... a bit stupid :) so i better by 2 x 2gb and sell 2 x 1gb off ebay?
#11
good price, would of been better if it was 1 x 2GB as most laptops have 2 Slots.
#12
great price, cheers. Was gonna pay £25 quid exc delivery. Heat Added

1 x 2GB as the guy above wants as well.

Problem is that fewer laptops support pc6400 speeds. But at least you have that option, sice it will slow down to 667mhz where necessary. The items below are better than the item the OP has put up!

2 x 1 gb 800mhz http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/5748690/PNY-PC6400-2GB-800MHz-DDR2-200pin-SoDIMM-Laptop-Memory/Product.html

The RAM will simply run at 667mhz then. Still may as well purchase the 800mhz RAM since it will have higher resale value, and theres the option to get 2 x 2GB modules.

As the play.com description correctly says

Compatible With:
DDR2 PC2-4300 (533 MHz Bus Speed)
DDR2 PC2-5300 (667 MHz Bus Speed)
DDR2 PC2-6400 (800 MHz Bus Speed)

Rememebr that unless you have a 64 bit operating system, windows will only see anywhewre between 3 and 4GB. Usually somewhere in the model. but isnt really much of a problem unless you desperately need that extra 512MB.

Heat added.

Good deal, I just bought a 2gb 5300 SODIMM piece of Kingston from Amazon for £22.

Don't always believe the crucial scan when it says each slot will only accept 1gb max, my Samsung Q35 has 1 slot with a 1gb max rating and I installed the above mentioned 2gb piece, read in the Bios and in Windows with no issues.

Hot, going to order some for my mam's laptop. A great little upgrade for a Vista notebook for very little outlay.
