These are all out of stock for delivery.

My local Argos has only 1 of the ASUS X5DIJ, none of the Fujitsu, and 5 of the Lenovo so you may find a few in store.

Note the Lenovo says it runs Windows 7 Starter, which if true makes this more of a netbook than a Notebook (Windows 7 Starter has some restrictions over Windows Home).

Note the Asus was posted on HUKD 3 weeks ago at this price.

Really? I see only older type/refurbs for lower prices. Anything decent is well over £350. Same price for the last year.

The two recently posted of Toshibas for £4-430 show you just how much more you get for your money.
better processor, more memory, HD space etc. I can see why you would pay the etxra hundred.

There is a Toshiba on for £349 as well. Its a better spec. Also there is a seperate toshiba trade in website. So if you have a working laptop and u trade in for say £100, then you get it much cheaper.

Anyway heat added

I agree, prices will always fall but new laptops take the place at the higher prices, they then fall as the spec gets older. There will always be a deal if you wait but when you see that deal there will always be one coming soon after! You would end up never buying one!
Cant see the bottom price for laptops (not netbooks) getting much lower than £300 unless someone develops processors and screens etc for vastly cheaper prices. £300 is probably going to be the bottom for some years.

An alternative to these deals check out Dell Outlet. I bought my Inspiron with 4gb ram and Windows 7 64bit from there for £307 delivered a couple of months ago.

Windows 7 starter ?
Nah.
Indeed - dump it and put Linux on. It's a way of avoiding most of the Windows Tax.

Windows 7 starter ?
Nah.

I can confirm the lenovo one is actually Windows 7 Home Premium.

I still think the spec is better on the Lenovo - OS can be changed easily, and although I usually prefer intel processors, I think the AMD is slightly better than the celerons on the other 2.

Just bought the Asus X5DIJ 15.6in Laptop. 508/3046 and can testify to it being an EXCELLENT laptop - first rate build quality, Windows 7 Premium, LED backlit screen, lots of decent Asus utilities included - all in all an excellent buy for £300. Got to be the best choice out of the three here...esp as ASUS regularly top the charts for reliability.
