I've just been in the Durrington Tesco and if they are the large pumpkins then I really don't want to see the small ones. Tiny things.
#3
Thanks

I got a big pumpkin from asda for a quid yesterday -there was a pallet sizes box and you could sift through them - not all were large. It's over 32" circ. about11+"diam. and ~5kg

Just seen some for 50p in aldi - not on the lookout for a pumpkin myself so didn't know if that was a good price or not but judging from this post I am guessing it was :)

hm we already have one but might be convinced to grab another for carving. thanks!
#8
Typical - just bought them in Tesco today for 75p
#9
Snap, typical eh...they aren't very big though.

the "large" were about the size of a Melon in Folkestone yesterday. Sainsbury had bigger ones £ for lb

Already bought mine... Don't forget to use the insides! We bought one to carve and one to eat - makes great soup and the seeds roasted with salt taste fantastic!
#16

Same in my Tesco and since I only wanted one I ended up not buying any.

Do you dry roast them, or are they roasted in oil? Everyway I've tried, they seem to turn inedible. :~(

Nice price and great fun for the kids, but don't bother with the actual flesh. There is no blander taste than pumpkin, whether roasted, mashed, turned into soup, whatever. In terms of food value - 50p is about right.

They have large ones instore but they are 2 for £3
#24
my Tesco is doing 2 for 3 £ :(((
but got a couple really large ones from Aldi today (99p each)
#25
Went to my store today and all the signs for 2 for £3 were still up. There was a tiny 50p badge and they went through at 50p. Suggest you all price check in store.
As for the size - they are about the size of a biggish watermelon.
#26
Went into my local today and they still said 2 for £3, so didnt bother, now wish Id checked the price, will have to look again tomorrow.

Same in my store - asked about it they did not believe and knew nothing about it! How embarassing! I am sure I saw add for this on X factor - woman at Tesco said she had taped it and would fast forward to see the ads!"!!!

Just seen the advert on TV & it says;

"Selected UK stores. Subject to availability. Large Pumpkins 17-20cms. 50% total saving, Ends 31/10. Delivery charges online. tesco.com"

Hope this is of help to someone :)

there were no 50p pumpkins at Folkestone Tescos either, but I would like to nominate T's Pumpkin dept for the marketing prize of the year!
In a box next to the 2 for £3 pumpkins were a pile of deformed, flattened, non orange and totally strange pumpkins, all with a label on that said something like " Mutant pumpkins from Outer Space"
