Boring? Monkey Island 2 is one of the best point and clicks ever, and I encourage everyone to give it a try at this price.

Star Wars: KOTOR won a BAFTA, and is absolutely fantastic.

Both games also hold high 90%< scores on most well known games reviews sites.

if you're not a fan of star wars, or rpg games, or even science fiction in general then maybe, but if you have even a remote interest in any of them, or just good storytelling and enjoyable gameplay then you couldn't be more wrong.

to each their own though, for every Imagine there must be a Band On the Run.

Sounds kinda odd. I have a desktop and a laptop. Game on the desktop but have extremely limited internet where it is so will take about 2 weeks to download a game. If I buy it, could I download on my laptop and play on the desktop?

I did quickly check that no one had posted the deals before I did, but it seems I didn't check enough (coupled with the fact that I'm a slow typer :( ). Sorry!

You'd need to download them separately unfortunatly.

Yes, you can download on one machine and then copy the steamapps folder across to the other machine. It works fine.
Same can be done for backing up your downloads too.

You don't need to download on each. Just use the steam backup and restore option. which ever you download to backup the files then copy to flash drive then open steam on the other and restore. It is very simple.

You could install on the laptop and then copy the files over, then verify them using steam. You might still need to download some files on verification. I do this if I reinstall the OS.
There is an option to backup games files so im guessing you should be able to download on laptop, then backup, then copy the backups onto desktop and point steam to them.

Thanks for the advice, I'll buy DIRT 2 tonight and download it tomorrow when I'm out and about with the netbook.

Curses! I thought it was over and I had done so well only spending £16 this time.

Definitely going to have to get Star Wars: KOTR. Apparently it's the best Star Wars game ever.

Is it just me or is Paypal playing up on steam recently?

Not to mention that it's from Bioware - creators of Mass Effect and Dragon Age (both amazing games, in my opinion). :)

i had issues with it yesterday, didn't load up the external payment page so had to leave it for a while and come back later to retry the purchase.

I got Star Wars KOTOR a while ago on one of the deals and was really looking forward to it.
Found the gameplay slow, far too frustrating and the camera angles very annoying.

perhaps i've been spoiled by Deus Ex, but there you go. :(
#26
Damn, Steam with their awesome sales.

To buy or not to buy KOTOR. :)

there are some great games on there!!!

If you have a PayPal credit card attached as the main payment via Paypal, then yes, it has been broken over the last few days. You can still pay direct with the PayPal mastercard.

"We want to let you know about a technical issue we're having that means you're currently not able to use your PayPal MasterCard to check out with PayPal. We know this may be frustrating and we're working hard to fix the problem immediately."

What's it to you, is your opinion on MI games so superior? Stuck in the 80s? Name a modern graphics adventure that rates better?

ps.....I think you will find that the Monkey Island series started in 1990.

I hope that eventually Steam users will be able to gift games to anyone and get rid of those that they don't want in their lists anymore.
