http://www.shopto.net/video-games/ps4/PS4TH92-the-last-guardian-exclusive-launch-edition

Original deal post was for regular edition at Simply Games
http://deals.simplygames.com/p/the-last-guardian-ps4

Next best prices are almost £43 at Base and Boomerang.

I know £39.85 isn't that cheap, but it's a first-party title that's had, well, a bit of hype to say the least. I'd expect prices to stay pretty high on this one before launch. I don't think that box art is final btw.

I think Shopto have a better price, although I might be wrong. Also, Sony first party titles have come leaps and bounds in terms of quality since the PS1 days. Safe to say that they rival industry stalwarts Nintendo as well as Microsoft in terms of quality.

I will be buying my copy day one.

I'm predicting a beautiful and intriguing game world with plenty of emotional scenes let down by incredibly annoying controls. Seriously, who puts a camera on a bouncy 'spring' - I'm looking at you SotC!

what ?sorry but as much as i like Sony what about no no mans sky(which you can't really blame Sony for) and the order 1886? the is gen exclusives have been hit and miss(apart from uncharted 4 and bloodbourne), unlike last gen which we had some amazing games.

I give Microsoft there due this gen as there exclusives have been pretty consistent this gen, of course Nintendo will always have the best exclusives

Sony helped with promotion for No Mans Sky, really don't think they should be criticised for this. They did their job and marketed it well by showing it off, people got hyped. Sean Murrays interviews on the other hand.... just dodging questions constantly no real answers and even after release he's gone quiet...

Can't argue with the order though, they hyped that up as an amazing 1st party ps4 launch title and it did not deliver. Should of just advertised it as a movie with button prompts.

NMS and 1886 aren't true first party titles.

And if you're going to go down that road, neither are Devils Third and Fatal Frame. Although if you really want to gloss over Nintendo's glaring lows, then I won't bother talking about Metroid Federation Force, Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival, StarFox Zero, Mario Party 10...

IGN said that the graphics don't look very good but then again, this has been in development forever and at this point it's more of a retro-ish game than anything for fans of Ico & SotC.

got me there with Nintendo as this gen as had quite o few "dud" exclusives but when they get it right. also still dosent get away from the fact that they do have the best exclusives which if they didn't they would of been out of business a long time ago. great games dreadful business choices

also sure 1886 was a true first party title, i could be wrong

Star Fox Assault sucked because of the tediously dull ground battles and Star Fox Zero cause of the gimmicky controls. God damn it. Nintendo can't just release one normal Star Fox game.

Sony have been aping Nintendo this generation, in that they don't often lower the prices of their games. I think you might be able to pick it up for around £20 in December 2017, so not sure if you want to wait that long...

I think £25-30 might be the regular sale price for a title like this...

I must have missed the "hype". When I saw the early trailers, the footage did nothing for me.

EDIT: and I completely failed to be sucked into the hype train for NMS.

No, I just didn't jump on the hype bandwagon. Saw the early footage, and wasn't that taken in. Saw the price, and completely switched off.

To be honest, I'm surprised that so many people were taken in by NMS. I would never have guess that it would have been as eagerly anticipated. Although I am also aware that a lot of the silent majority aren't that overly fussed about the game. To them, it's just £40. Could be worse...

the whole idea and setting was great it was just so poorly executed, as said elsewhere its just a interactive movie, it had the potential to be something special, so its a like no mans sky were the developer lied about what we we would get, but not to the degree of the lies that spewed out of Shaun Murray's mouth

See, I didn't even know that it was an "interactive movie". That's how little interest I have in the game...

There are some games that just don't appeal in my book - and NMS is one of those games. Not really the fault of the developers, as not every game is for everyone.

I'm just going to change one word here... Because it feels nice to play Devil's Advocate, even if I do know that Nintendo will provide the goods.

So as you might know, Zelda got delayed to some time in 2017 - ie it's going to miss the launch. Personally I think it'll be a winter 2017 release, but that's not the point of below:
