It would be nice to go through life, never having to think about things like this. But in the real world we have to

I agree, but I think you have misunderstood. Legal packs sold by WH Smiths are bad news. If you complete these yourself without any legal advice/representation there is such a massive chance of it going wrong and the consequences could be quite significant. But hey, they are on sale as hopefully most people are sensible enough to approach a professional with delicate matters/complex like these.

lol - After spending over £600 on my own divorce, I got a legal kit from Tesco to do my girlfriends. It ended up costing us less than £100 for hers.

Got to agree - awful product. You just know there will be a problem and it will be invalid for some reason meaning the estate has to go into probate which not only costs your family but is also a real pain in the a*se

Solicitors can go wrong, too. But they're covered by Law Society insurance, which means you could sue them for all the costs and inconvenience caused. Unlike the WHS pack.

Best wishes, Neil

We got ours done at the Citizen advice bureau. Make an appointment, give them all your details, make another to check and sign. Make a donation, whatever you can afford.
