Gerard Butler (300) and Jamie Foxx (Collateral) star in Be Cool director F. Gary Gray's Law Abiding Citizen. A taut and tense thriller, packed with action and explosions, this vigilante vengeance movie is seriously confrontational and totally exhilarating.

Clyde Shelton (Gerard Butler) is a family man whose wife and daughter were brutally murdered during a home invasion. When the killers are caught, Nick Rice (Jamie Foxx), a hotshot young Philadelphia prosecutor, is assigned to the case. Against his will, Rice is forced to offer one of the suspects a light sentence in exchange for testifying against his accomplice. Fast forward ten years: The man who got away with murder is found dead and Shelton coolly admits his guilt. Then he issues a warning to Rice: either fix the flawed justice system, or key players in the trial will die.

Soon Shelton follows through on his threats, orchestrating from his jail cell a string of spectacularly diabolical assassinations. Rice finds himself in a desperate race against time facing a deadly adversary who always seems to be one step ahead.

Its based on a true story as well!

This film was unspeakably awful. Truly it is.
If you buy this film, I'd recommend a lobotomy first. Unlessyou own any film starring Jason Statham or Vin Diesel, in which case you're already there and are probably feeling the stitches right now.
It insults you on so many levels that you'd have to be stupid or comatose not to realise.

And I'd love to know why anyone would think this was based on a true story.

What a terrible film. Well made blah blah, but shockingly provoking. Made me HATE the lawyer guy and actually feel sorry for the Gerard Butler chap no matter his violence. :O
