LCD Sports Watch with Compass

Large easy to read LCD display showing:
- Time (12/24hr format)
- Month and day
- Alarm with snooze function
- Altimeter with trip timer
- Electronic compass
- Temperature (°C/°F)
Supplied with battery
5 year manufacturer's warranty

Have looked for one of these and never seen them below £40. The inverted LCD is pretty cool too in my opinion.

Unlikely to give a useful temperature reading if it's on your wrist.

Oh yes, and remember to subtract half your height from the altimeter reading, unless you're on hands and knees, or unless you have your hands up, in which case subtract slightly more than your own height, or unless your knuckles normally drag along the ground, in which case do the same as if you were on your hands and knees, or, or, or, errr.

Okay, forget it.

Seems to be displaying 230 degrees C as the temp so Im not sure about the altimeter accuracy :whistling:

I have a Casio Protrek watch and they come in at something like £120+ and that isnt the most accurate thing in the world..for £20 this aint bad I suppose :)

just what i've been looking for, and at a great price, with a 5 yr warranty!
any ideas if it's waterproof/resistant, as it doesn't say on the lidl site?
#12
I don't think it's waterproof, there is an air hole in the back plate for the altimeter!
There were hardly any in stock this morning and you have to ask -no sign of them on the shelves.
The only downsides of this watch are that its seriously big and the display is hard to see without the backlight.

great watch had to travel to pick mine up my local lidl's did not have stock, I phoned head office and they checked stock, and ystrad mynach branch had six in stock, they reserved mine for me behind the till.

I had a casio temperature watch many years ago and was great to monitor temperatures throughout night in my house, this has same features, five year warranty altimeter, compass and a real cool black display. Bit chunky mind you mun, but great deal if you want a watch to last years definitely my best buy this year go grab one if you get a chance stock is running out real fast

May have to ring to reserve mine then. Want to pick one up for my mate.

Loads at my store. It's big and chunky and it's pretty good as an outdoor utility watch.

Got one this morning 8.30am. There were only 6 on display and a guy came straight up to the display, grabbed one and went straight to the checkouts. Keen!

This thing has a seriously BIG face (roughly 50mm in diameter). I have fairly big arms and hands as my work is manual (Property Maintenance), but this thing still looks big on my wrist! But don't get me wrong, its a nice bit of kit.

I haven't had chance to check the accuracy of the Altimeter but I have checked the electronic compass. I would say the accuracy is spot on from comparison with my 'Silva' Compass (Silva make very good quality compass'). The display on the advertising picture (see original post above) has been very much enhanced. The actual display I have to say is disappointing as it is fairly 'soft' (not as bright as the advertising picture).

The strap is comfortable and rubber based. The watch includes a battery and the watch settings are quite straight forward following the instructions.

Overall, I like the watch but the 2 things that are niggling me are the size of the face and the disappointing display. I'm thinking of either returning it (lidl has an excellent returns policy see below), or eBaying it as they seem to go for about 40 quid. However, I think some people will love the Large face and 'soft' display.

Hope that helps.

Blas.
