Any benifit of this over a cheapy one?

Was 'teal' yesterday and 'almond' the day before, considering changing my order for this one instead...

This pan will probably outlive you.

20cm sounds a little small?

It will last forever, or at least for generations.

Easy to clean.

Fantastic heat distribution and retention, so great for thicker cuts of meat or chunky veg.

The main difference is style here. I have a cheapo one, bought for the equivalent of about two quid in a chinese market shop in Amsterdam in 1992. It is still as good as the day I bought it. Cast iron pans are pretty much all the same. So long as they are well balanced when you handle them, cheap ones will be fine. This is not true of other pans, where cheap ones might use different thickness metal, or poor quality finish. But cast iron is cast iron. A good heavy cheap one will also last a lifetime.

Was tempted to order as I already have one I picked up at the Le Creuset outlet store for £27, but I've just realised this is the 20cm version, not the 26cm version that my other one is.

Just something for people to be aware of, because this one is actually quite small.

Dont think you will find a decent cast iron griddle for much less than this anyway,
If you like steak, forget aluminium cast iron is the only way to fly
