Wow, hot. Misprice surely. That is stupidly cheap. I'm tempted to get one to replace my 8800GT.

Edit: Well, just bought one. Let's see if they will honour it. This is basically a 9800GTX / GTS 250, Nvidia's infamous renaming schemes. It won't be much better than my 8800GT but it should be a lot quieter and cooler. Hopefully, I can also overclock it a bit.

beats this deal hand down:

And dont forget your 5% off...just added it to the OP

Next cheapest I can find for a 512MB 8800GTS of ANY make is £120.

Scorching - but must be a misprice.
#4
£47.49 with 5% off...tempted...but looking at selling my PC...

yeah you definetely 'a' card.
my advice is go and get a decent PSU, i think mine is only 350/400watt but its a coolermaster one thus actually delivers the said power unlike a lot of cheaper models.

Also it depends on the rest of your system and what power thats draining
#15
Ordered - thanks muchly OP, heat and rep left.

Although I do fully expect this NOT to be honoured!

Nope (but then it depends upon the physical orientation of your PC!) - it takes up two slots

Just to confirm that the 5% RAC discount is not working. It doesn't apply to electronics.

Better review here.

Some nice overclocking potential on these cards.

Great card, had one in my quad core for over a year now and they are very fast. Had no probs playing anything at 1680 on my 22" and cant see myself needing to upgrade in the near future until the gt280s etc come down in price.

Highly recommended at this price, its a steal ! Voted hot !

*crosses fingers and arms and legs that play come up with the goods* !

So how good of a deal is this? I've been out of the loop on graphics cards for a while now. What is the true value of this card?

I have an ati x1950 Pro so is it worth the upgrade as I know my x1950 doesn't support dx10?
#24
Ordered, so fingers crossed!

"You save £190" Just ordered, but it must be a misprice.
#26

No your thinking of a different card ,This is quite a bit faster than the 9600gt,People confuse this card with the 320mb/640mb gts cards which are much slower than this,
#29

#30

Just ordered this and can confirm that Varsity card numbers work to get the 5% discount!
Don't forget quidco too!
Must be a misprice but if you don't play you can't win!

Cheers

I've ordered but this will turn out like the £15 8800GT / 256MB back in Feb, cancelled misprice. Fingers crossed though :)
#37
great price but definitely not a misprice imho, they've just got a whole bunch of older cards they can't shift - realistically they're not worth more than 70-80.

Its a tad better, you would see an improvement but not a huge one...maybe 10-20% fps rate dependent on the rest of your system
#39
i was umming and arring as i upgraded my pc 1 1/2 years ago but then had to pack it all away and only got it out again 4 weeks ago.

m problem is my mobo is agp so it looks like i will need to get a new mobo if this deal comes off.

i spent loads on upgrading last time but never got round to using it.
doh.
