Says bonded which most sofas are made of, not faux leather

The cheap sofas are made of bonded.
It looks like leather until you feel it and have it for longer than eighteen months.
It's terrible and doesn't last.
I have a two and three seater from a well known store that deteriorated after eighteen months and is now shockingly bad.
I use a throw.

Good for those who want 'leather sofas' but are on a budget. Not for me, but heat added for the reduction in price.

I don't know what my leather sofa is but I got it from Harvey's 2 years ago and there are holes where the leather has hardened and cracked off

Are bonded leather sofas better than pvc leather sofas?

The great thing about bonded leather is that it hates sunlight too, so unless your living room is in the shade all day it's going to discolour quite badly.

Oh, and these were NEVER worth 800 sheets.

It doesn't excite me even a little, a basic small sofa, 2 seater, in bonded leather,
what is so special to call it a deal.
let me know when you need something like this anytime of the year.
probably they have not found a single idiot to buy one at £800 ever.
its same like DFS, RRP £3000, WAS £1500, NOW £500.

bonded leather is like reformed ham bits pulped together to make a sheet.

I bought this sofa and it's a piece of rubbish.
After 14 months, the arm of the sofa broke.
I complained to Debenhams who told me that is was my problem as the sofa only has a 12 month warranty.
I'm currently pursuing them through the small claims court as I believe that the product is not fit for purpose on the basis that a sofa should really last more than a year.

Oh, and it's also not particularly comfortable to sit on (not just me saying this - there are several reviews on the Debenhams site saying the same thing).

Avoid.

In fact, based on my experience, avoid purchasing any furniture from Debenhams unless it is accompanied by a decent warranty. I'm now seeking a replacement if anyone has any suggestions!

Not really worth anyone spending money buying a sofa from a department store expecting any quality.

Most sofas? Even cheaper sofas at SCS and DFS are not bonded leather...you probably mean some cheap sofas at the likes of Argos, Debenhams, Next and all other of those places that sell such tat.

its a bonded leather as it says, not a real leather.
a bonded leather is slightly better than faux leather, nothing like real.

They are only £250!
I may consider if they sell a 3 & 2 seater set for £250.

Still not a bargain if:
a) it falls apart in just over a year (and Debenhams won't repair, replace or refund) and
b) is uncomfortable to sit on

Out of interest, what's wrong with them? Just uncomfortable or something else?
Also interested to see if anyone else has encountered Debenhams ridiculous 12 month warranty on furniture.

maybe look at natuzzi retailers

Natural Leather = Unfinished Leathers = More natural characteristics / shading differences
Protecta Leather = Finished Leathers = Less natural characteristics / More uniform look

as opposed to
Bonded leather, reconstituted leather , blended leather, is, bicast leather or coated leather,

I posted the sofa bed equivalent previously and got savaged
At the end of the day it's a cheap sofa... So heat from me.

I voted hot before reading it was bonded leather. I'm another hater of the stuff, my 6 month old sofa has cracks all over it
#34
All I can say that there must be some bonded leather sofas and chairs that may be better put together than others.

I bought a recliner from Debenhams, must be about 3-4 years ago now, it has had plenty of daily use and the bonded leather is still intact, hasn't split or cracked, and it still looks good.

The model I bought is no longer available, however there is one very similar but has a different name. Reading the comments from some customers I would probably be reluctant to buy another bonded leather as I think I have ridden my luck long enough, and must have received a particularly good bit of bonded leather on my chair!!

Not sure whether this is hot or cold??

I'm quite sure you're right. But in this case, the product is rubbish and the retailer is execrable.

We have the sofa bed version in the kids play room - for the money I think it is good value - a few comments:

1) Looks pretty good
2) I wouldnt have it in my main room
3) Sofa bed is pretty good for occasional use
4) It is cheap for what it is
5) I have an John Lewis brown leather sofa in the other room - cost several times more - yes it is way better - but if on a budget / for a secondary room this is ok
6) The arm where the kids tend to sit on had sagged - not visibly but the padding has gne very soft - after about 2 years of use
7) It does feel very odd to sit on at first - made me laugh one review says like sitting on a park bench - and it is very upright - but I would not say it is uncomfortable once you are used to it.
8) The "bonded" leather element - compared to a much more expensive sofa you can immediately tell the difference but I actually think it looks ok....not sure about wear and tear for heavier use.

For £250, it stays clean and is good value imo, and seems quite sturdy so long as you dont mistreat it.

I was tempted before reading this thread, have been looking for a companion for our ten year old Italian leather sofa for some time but this is obviously not the one.
#38
Things would have been different if this deal had said bonded leather in the title, let's hope people don't get fooled.
Nothing against the OP but I have living proof how terrible these are and my two and three seater are a disgrace.
#39
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonded_leather right so if u want real leather and have £800+ go for that as it may / should last longer but if u are on a budget and don't want fabric then there is no other real alternative to bonded leather.... Ffs hotuk deal sobs need to create their own little deals site may I suggest http://www.Iambetterthanyou.fo. Jeez
