lyca Mobile are doing 2000 mins unlimited texts and 5gb of data plus unlimited lyca to lyca calls for £17 a month
what if we do not want to spend more then £12 a month?
GiffGaff are charging more for unlimited data from next month, but you get 3GB of data, unlimited texts and 500 minutes for the same price. If data is more of a priority than minutes, as it is to a lot of people, then this is a better deal.

Haven't voted either way.

Is fair usage policy applied to the unlimited data?

Terms and conditions
tanked
no tethering. Think I'll stick to the One plan from 3

I'm currently downloading about 50Gb a month on it

I agree the 3 one plan is a good deal, but it's £15.90 on a 12 month contract (plus the signal is terrible in my area)

I'm after a good payg deal that will work in a vodafone handset, that my teenage daughter can't run up a big bill on! ;)
Liger
lycamobile is £10

Had a look at their website and UK plan 12 is the same deal as this but it's £12 also.

Plus it's of no use to me anyway as their sim won't work in the handset! (_;)

The only experience I've ever had with Lebara was a few years ago when several transaction's appeared on my statement even though I never made them and had never heard of them before. They were not very helpful either. Luckily the bank sorted it all out.

That said it's not like it was Lebara's fault. My card details were most likely stolen when shopto were hacked around the time it happened but still they seemed disinterested and seemed to know about it to.

As far as I can tell though, this deal is effectively PAYG, so no statements/contract. Simply top-up whenever you want.

That's what the person who had my card details was doing. Buying PAYG credit of different amount's between £5 and £20. I think there was around 5 or 6 transaction's. Luckily I caught it on the day and had the bank block the card or it could of been a lot more.

Again though that's not Lebara's fault I was just a bit annoyed by there lack of support in the matter. They wanted nothing to do with it even though stolen card details were being used. I've since found out that the people who steal card details use these top-up company as a way of testing the card is active before using it elsewhere or selling the card details on.

Not true.

netteler is the best overall for ryanair. the card is totally free. top up whenever u want! no 'initial load' carp!

o2 one is best for a general prepay card (must have a valid o2 number). Card is totally free and cash machine withdrawals r free!!

orange is only good for contactless if u can get it for free. pointless otherwise.
I use Kalixa Mastercard for Ryanair. It's use is free and no set-up costs if your initial upload is £40. No annual fee. You can also get £7 TCB.
This is the one (Anywhere card) I use for Ryanair. I also have a euro and $ card for when I'm away. Word of caution - do not use the euro or $ card for Ryanair as their exchange rate is daylight robbery

Shame to hear about that story. I am reluctant to leave my details with companies such as this one and using the Pay as you go option without the need of any registration. So I can avoid using getting into a situation like your son has already. I hope things work out for you.

I would never use it as my primary number.

However as far as a deal goes it' hot for me.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!
My son used them as his girlfriend is in Singapore he paid his bill in October and cancelled with them he went over to Singapore for a month for xmas and rang me to tell me that Lebara had taken over £500.00 from his account using his debit card details we had to send him some cash as they wouldn't talk to us about it he came home 10th Jan and went to the bank it looks like they kept his card details they are being very unhelpful and the bank are in the process of sorting it out it it's illegal what Lebara has done but that does not help my son now.How on earth they did it and for the amount they took was 4 times the amount my son had ever had a bill for in the past.Be warned STAY AWAY!

I am so sorry to hear about your sons unfortunate experience with Lebara.

To be frank, the company started off with good promotional deals and good level of customer service but their service since last year has been totally shocking.

I had to take out my Lebara sim to fix the phone that I was using. When I put the sim back in after a few days, it didnt work. I wrote to customer service to help me out and they never replied. I lost £ 5-7 that was on that sim. I also feel that their system charges more than the advertised rate.

I feel sorry for people who are being lured in by such a dodgy company.
It looks like the person who posted this news works for lebara, because ive seen alot of these guys trying to advertise, i think they are linked to vectone mobile aswell but not 100%, where i live i probably see these people 3 times a week, with their little stand trying to sell these crap sims, i wouldnt trust them
This deal is as cold as ice

Thought I should point out that your T-Mobile call allowance won't count when calling anyone who uses a Lebara sim.

I don't understand what happens when numbers are ported. Will a Orange number ported to Lebara et al be charged as a non-UK number?

According to T-Mobile, all these prefix numbers are not UK mobiles and will not be part of exclusive minutes.

07404 07405 07408 07417 07424 07466
075202 075594 075894 075895 075896 075897
07609 07610 07621 07682 077077 0782210
078228 078920 078921 078931 079112 079118
079788

Channel Islands and the Isle of Man are not part of the UK, and this issue is bad enough.
Now it has got worse.
How on earth is one to know whether a number is a UK mobile.
The entire mobile numbering is a mess.

R you sure? Just rang to someone on Lebara, let you know about the eventual damage.
I used the card 4fore,7YEARS AGO,IS COMPLETE RUBBISH...ONLY IF YOU DESPERATE FOR CHEAP SIM THIS COMPANY MUST BE BANNED ... boycott if u can.

If you have a decent plan with enough inclusive minutes or access to a landline with free calls e.g. free evening and weekend calls or broadband which allows you to use SIP, just use localphone.com for local geographical number and significantly lower international calling rate that either Lebara or Lyca
Lyca mobile is much cheaper and more reliable and has competitive rates.

I think Lebara is okay if you are not concerned about how much the company is overpricing you
These lot have guys that hassle you in any big town centre, every day. I am not surprised at adamnsu's conclusion.

Not related to the post really, but does anyone know of a contract sim to roam all UK networks? I need only data upto ~20mb per month. I don't need voice, sms, 3g just need GPRS and looking for max £5 per month. Any help would be appreciated!Cheers.

hello mate, go to check with three, they have 'sim zero' one month rolling contract, which you can add 5 pound for 'internet max' which gives you 1Gb data allowrence.
for the guys who looking for international call
go to three well if you are heavy user, the 15pound international saver add-on gives you 3000 mins to almost all around world.
Hi

I have been using Lebara for a year for international calls and this is my concluison:

STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS PROVIDER.

Their international rates are not competitive
They cut more money than you talk
You cannot always get a line quickly to your desired extension
Customer service is extremly poor to respondong queries

Internet mobile free
10MB isn't bad, seeing as that equals over 300MB a month..

I doubt you could buy a sim card with no credit and expect to get free net access.
That is exactly what I did, and it worked. I did add 50p just in case using the DrPepper promotion, but I don't think that was necessary.

Anyway, 10 MB is not much, but as a free gift I am not going to complain. I do however have to say that it is very very sloooooow. Dialup was fast by comparison.
Received this morning. Put it in my dongle and put the APN settings from http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/blog/2009/03/manual-wap-mms-gprs-settings/ into Mobile Partner and I'm away......as has been said on Vodafone.

10 MB is not much at all but very useful for an emergency.

Hello
This is my first post

I just wanted to inform you all that there is a better and cheaper way to call overseas. Lebara charges 5 p/min to call to India. Whereas if you use Access numbers( I use callcheaper.co.uk) you can call it as cheap as 0.7 p/min. The best combination would be an O2 sim on Favorite place as this would make landlines calls within UK free(hence Access numbers would be free)

Hope this helps

so How to set the favourite place? by post code? This number 02081806008 should be in London?
I had one of these a few months back to call my friend for free on Lebara.

I thought the Lebara to Lebara free calls had expired a month or two back.........so I guess it's back again ??????

I had about about £1 left on my last card but I didn't use it for a while and I think after something like 80 days if you don't use to make a pay call you lose any credit you have.

I suppose other providers are the same you have to make a paid call every so often ???????

" The best combination would be an O2 sim on Favorite place as this would make landlines calls within UK free(hence Access numbers would be free) "

This is what I do with my 02 Fav Places deal. :p
