led lenser make nice torches but light is lame compared to the ones @ dealextreme...i have several quality torches from dx (about 10), 2 led lenser p7's and a lenser p3 amongst many others - gave away my maglites as they are now pathetic

can you point out which ones good on dealextreme I know nothing about torches, one thats better than the P3 Led Lenser as linked above and around the same price range? I think using AA / AAA is pretty vital.

What maglites? Filament bulb or LED? They do conversion kits turn bulb into focusable LED. I recently purchased an 120 lumens led maglite for my parents and its like a aircraft landing light!

review says

Cons: It flickers! Dammnit! I've either buggered it by removing some of the heat sinking qualities by operation without the bezel, or the clicky is getting weak.

there are 64 reviews for that torch, you'll always get a few faulty units, doesn't matter what you're buying, why are you picking holes in everything that people post? just because they're better value than yours?

one review for yours says

"Munch munch go the batteries" the battery lasts ages in my cree

another review for yours says

"Not a good buy, the lamp is dim and not very well focused meaning that only in complete darkness does it stand a cat's chance in hell of lighting anything further than perhaps 1 metre from the torch"

"Buying this product is a bad idea. Save your money and get a different torch instead"

Nice debate, likewise been through most marques i would ALWAYS buy a Lenser over deal extreme, due to quality, spec, battery life - yes i have purchased through dx before.

uniquefire.....mega powerful....half the size of a p7 but at least twice the power 220 lumens (the p7 isnt 190 lumens imo, nearer 100) - takes digital regulated aa sized batteries or normal aa (you get more power/life with the digital regged ones)

best torch i have is the mte3-2 - same size as the p7 but id say near 7-10 times the power at 700 lumens (accidently looked at it for a millsecond and it temp blinded me...scarey...so be careful)

er yes, you clearly know nothing about torches...the only good thing about maglites is their build quality, light is pathetic even those with LED conversions....120 lumens is pathetic anyway

my mte3-2 is about the size of the AA maglite....its 700+ lumens compared to the maglites 2-14 lumens lolol!

comparison here...using standard maglites v mte m3-2 and also a comparison to the fenix tk-40 (mte is brighter but slightly smaller beam and about 1/5th price!)

I know its terrible, I wish they would include an arrow on them so it's easier to figure out which end the magic fairy moon beam comes out of.

Edit : Cheers for the links ;)

tbh youd buy the led lenser for the warranty and know you are getting a genuine product...

dealextreme do great stuff and some right rubbish, not much if any come back/warranty (though 1 of my torches failed after 6 mths and they replaced it straight away - took 2 weeks) but they are dirt cheap for the spec

Never had issues with anything on DX even had a parcel bit late so contacted them through paypal got a refund and the item arrived day later lmao.. Even though i did sign for it no come back from them so £25 worth of free goods.

These torches on there have always been good buy on average they are far better then anything sold in the UK FAKE OR NOT.. lets face it i bet 99% of you guys who own one use it once a week if that and not for long just to see yourselves to the chip shop and back.

Side note which is the SMALLEST brightest cree torch please??? is it the cree P4???

Hahahahahaha

Hk

If your wanting a torch thats going to give reasonable light and still compact IMO the Lenser T7 for £35.00 does it. Yes i know that there are a million and one torches out there but it comes in a nice case which is worth a tenner on its own which will clip on your jeans or jacket. T7 uses 4xAAA batteries and is used my me and many other cops who sometimes our life depends on these torches.

From the Dealextreme listing with one AA battery:
Runtime: 50 minutes (manufacturer rated)

Whereas according to Amazon the LED Lenser P3 (linked above):
Burn Time: Up to 40 hours

I think that explains the difference in light output - and I know which I'd prefer to rely on in a fix!

From amazon mate they are always having the P7 or T7 for this price. The only difference between the 2 is the grip markings on the metal casing.
