Can some one tell , why is it voted cold ?

I prefer the thinner Samsung led lit screens myself, Samsung also have a better picture quality to my eyes.

Weren't these over twice this price a couple of months ago? Not an LED screen as previously pointed out, white LED's are 2 a penny now so shouldnt really cost any more than a conventional LCD tv.

Except that you need a few more leds than just 2, then you have to control the various banks of leds (depending whether you are doing edge lit or rear lit, and global or localised dimming etc).

When I read about these I was impressed as they had the potential to be better than the Samsung LED-Edge-Lit LCD's but I have to say, after seeing several in different shops I'm dissappointed with the picture quality. Certainly on SD stuff, it just goes very 'blocky'.
I am currently looking at getting a convential Samsung LCD screen instead of getting one of these, as side-by-side the Samsung still seemed to look better, even without 'LED Backlight technology'.

Why would anyone want to confuse oled with led unless they wanted to spend £10,000+ on a 32" oled with a lifespan of less than 20,000 hours.

Its amazing how many people vote cold on led tv's, try walking into a shop and actually comparing one to an ordinary lcd, although they'll probably do that when you want to replace their CRT and vhs recorder. :-D

Ye there needs to be some middle ground understanding here. Firstly people need to realise that LED is not OLED but LED is a step up from traditional LCDs in most cases.
