Looks like a good price, have they sold these before and can anyone tell me if it is fairly bright? I want something like this for our medium sized back garden, it doesn't need to be like a halogen light, just bright enough so I can see that our basset hound isn't eating all my flowers!

One similar was posted here last summer by the same brand. Maybe worth a look at the comments.

These are good for illuminating a step on a path or the door of a shed etc. Most of these lower end PIR solar lights range from around 10 to 20 lums which is the light strength of a small cheap hand held torch. Great if that's all you need.
I have three. One to light up the chickens run. One at the side garden gate and one half way down the garden so i don't fall in the pond............again!
Heat added

tried getting one last time Lidl had something similar but was told by the store manager he had already sold the 3 (yep.. just 3) they had received.

The cashier later seemed to imply that they hadn't sold any but the manager had kept them himself ... bit of friction in store I suspect

These maybe ideal to light up the inside of a porch or similar

I bought one of these at Lidl last Autumn. Its more than bright enough to light up a path in the back garden. The light unit isn't watertight, and condensation quickly builds up inside it restricting the light. I made a plastis cover and placed it above the light to give it some protection. Worth the money, so heat from me.

Might grab one of these, should go ideal in my porch. Not too bad for shed/porch etc.

looks decent enough. + a newer version from the 'Rolson' one (available on ebay lasted 2yrs.. bought mine at Netto!) that typically invites Water recess, and the previous LIdl version. So possibly a good evolution?! Enough light for opening the door is only what you should bank on though.. ! As others have said.

We've had two from Lidl in the past....some quick feedback..

- One dead already - water damage
- Streetlamp overpowers this. My £1 led torch is brighter

Personal opinion...would never buy one again. Even if it was only £1, it is a clunky mess to put up on your walls.

Bought one last year ,packed in after 2 months ,had to get in touch with germany re guarantee ,after a lot of phone calls and emails ,the could'nt supply a replacement and was told to take it back to the store ,had to dismantle it from a high position ,took it back ,had a bit of a 'discussion' with the manager ,who told me i had to get in touch with the supplier grrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!! eventually got a refund ,normally i love Lidls products but this is a load of old rubbish and wont be buying again not all that bright either enough for a door or a step

I have a couple of these, they charge well during the summer however thats when you don't need much light as its bright most of the time. They don't charge much in winter however which is when you need the light the most, so for me they don't work that well.

not sure if I vot hot. There are pros and cons with Solar LEDs
Pros
Can be remotely placed without any electricity source. (Sheds etc..)

Cons:
Most of them (solar ones) I used are low wattage and provide very low lumens. Hence no good to detect faces 2 meters away.
Material construction not good to withstand weather.
if you have electricity provision, go with non-solar as LED's anyway take only less than 15W. You get motion detected ones from CPC for same price.
