Also available in this 'khaki' colour but in fewer sizes, and they look grey to me rather than khaki!

Not really mate. Maybe if someone is a hick from a narrow-minded small town, they'll think that way. I live in a city.
A man of courage and conviction can wear colours beyond the standard grey/black/blue palette.
These'll look good with a navy polo. Think Daniel Craig in the Haiti section of Quantum of Solace.
Much more common to wear this colour on your legs in Europe, hence the comment about them being summer/holiday trousers. I linked to a more 'masculine' colour choice for those who aren't quite so secure in their fashion choices.

Color wise no diff than a pair of Chino's.. always live in Chino's/Chino shorts in summer
Have done for years since going on Hols abroad... love it and could not give a flying duck .... ;)

Very narrow, lightweight cord though. Admit it, you can't tell they're cords from the pics.
