That's the only reason this game is still so expensive - the companies should thank us, not try and stop us :giggle:

Yes it does............they fixed it so you are taking a gamble if you get the right one or not.

Still good price for the game but wouldn't risk it if you specifically want it for the hack.

If they wanted to reduce piracy they would not sell it surely?
I would have thought they would sell it at £32 to maximise profit!

BTW bit funny that a Nintendo Wii game is needed for the hack isn't it?

Thank you, thought so.

This would make it the second time I was right this year!!
( only one more to go to beat last years' total!! )

The same was also true with GTA on the PSP if you remember that.... an exploit is found in the game and then hackers exploit it... not much anyone can do.

wasn't lumines also used for the same thing?

Either that or it's put in the game for the "hackers" to find..............
Depends which way you look at it.
Very doubtful to "hack" part of the game is needed
( or you would be able to use any or most wii games to do the hack )

Bought this from Blockbuster for only £13.

When I did the hack I asked if there was a version of Twilight that was required for the hack. The answer was as long as it was an original PAL version it was fine. Worked fine for me.

Are you saying a new version of Twilight has been released which doesn't allow the hack?

Yes. :)

There is a code on the inside of the disc and it must be the correct version.

I must have missed that. I had been following a Wii softmod thread on another forum and it's the first I've heard of different versions. Do you have a link to the versions that don't work then? Thanks.

Only pal versions with this code : RVL-RZDP-0A-0 JPN inscribed on the inside will work. Others won't as they've had the hack closed. :)

Thanks. I know what the wones that work are i.e.

Euro RVL-RZDP-0A-0 JPN
Asia RVL-RZDJ-0A-0 JPN
America RVL-RZDE-0A-0 JPN
America RVL-RZDE-0A-0 USA
America RVL-RZDE-0A-2 USA

So the first code is the code for PAL versions of the game. I just have never seen a report (apart from your posts which I found in Google) saying that a new version is out with a different code. I wondered what that new code was and how you found out about it. I could then report it on the Wii forum I use as I have not seen anyone who has come across it.

Unfortunately i haven't seen the new code. I have the old version. But i've read on forums and in magazines that they closed the hack and re-issued the game.

I've yet to come across one myself either but it's always a risk. If i can find any more info i will let you know by PM :)

Never heard of any different version of the disk that would not allow the hack but never had to research this as mine works!.

The hack is solveable for nintendo (and has been partially patched at times using upgrades, but not totally ruined yet,) however the main guys who exploit it have made it clear this is not the only game that has this sort of software/hardware clash and as if nintendo shut this door there are still others open in other games and infact apparantly there are other potential twighlight hacks that could be used. This again leads me to believe that a simple game reissue would not solve the problem but a google search or two would surely supply the answer.

If you need piracy after all the deals on here (resi evil 4 £15, Okami £9 And lego batman and starwars £13 all in the last two weeks are keeping me on the straight and narrow) the gamma seems to be up and running very well but piracy asside the ocarina cheat system os a must for anyone who likes to load up the odds in there favour and just run around killing anything that moves!

If all you want to do is hack your Wii then go to a local rental shop. Around £3 cost and no faff at all. However I would advise people to look into this properly before going down this avenue. Firstly there is a chance that a future update could kill your Wii should Nintendo decide it is too much of a problem. The last update showed they could spot a system with it on so you will have to bear that in mind every time you want to put a new retail game in it. Secondly you are breaking the law and it could well be traced. Whilst there are yet to be any court cases for this sort of thing (i.e. Microsoft didn't take anyone to court whose 360 they banned for running backups), who knows what may happen in the future. Thirdly the software companies do need to pay people to make the games you love. The Wii already has far to much garbage and not many gamers games. If all the Wii owners intelligent enough to do so mod their systems and pirate likes of Madworld then another one won't be forthcoming. If Carnival Games 2, 3 and 4 are all you wanted from the Wii then stop licking that window and go right ahead.

On the positive side if used sensibly the mod lets you test drive games for your collection (no demos on the Wii). It also lets you play NTSC versions of games like Paper Mario and Super Smash Brothers that Nintendo take months to make PAL versions of. It will also let you run Gamecube backups of games that you just may not be able to find any more (short of being ripped of on ebay).
