£2 discount on checkout if you have Amazon Prime, or else it is £48 if you do not have Prime membership. Currently out of stock, I'm only listing this because it seems to be out of stock nearly everywhere at this stage. I'd assume Amazon would be one of the first places to get new stock as well.

Rumours suggest stores will get new Nintendo Switch stock tomorrow, hoping this is the same for Zelda too!

thanks for this, not sure why cold, seems like a deal to me, just out of interest, where did you hear about updated stock?
#2
Also available from Tesco for the same price (£48) - saw it in-store yesterday but also available on-line.

No worries! I'm guessing it's because it is out of stock but still the best price I've seen that's currently available - albeit just a couple of £. I heard about updated stock on this website:
https://www.videogamer.com/news/switch-is-sold-out-at-game-and-amazon-but-more-stock-coming-soon

But to be taken with a pinch of salt - expecting stock and actually receiving stock are two different things but fingers crossed!

but you can buy it at this price and have it delivered when it comes back in stock. which it will. so it is a deal. sometimes a deal means waiting a little while to get something cheaper. still a deal.

Wow, I've never heard that before, must've been a pretty focused play-through. Reviews all mention a 25 - 40 hour campaign with 50+ hours of side quests, etc. Bummer if it can be done in 3, still looking forward to playing though.

Can actually be completed in 50 minutes.

Yeah - you can opt to go straight to Ganon after about 25 minutes, so if your hardcore enough 50 minutes sounds right!

That's not really the idea of the game though..... let's call it a warp pipe :)

GOTY or not, £48 for a standard edition of a game is not a good deal.

GOTY or not, £48 for a standard edition of a game is not a good deal.

It's RRP in retailers like Game is £59.99, considering you're saving £12 seems like a deal to me. Remember xbox one and ps4 games were more than £39.99 when they first came out, and getting them on sale shortly after release was unheard of, now its the norm.

The Switch is a new console, its also Nintendo, if you look at any Nintendo first party game, they retain their value for years. Nintendo games have almost always been more expensive to begin with.

Something being cheaper than a ripoff RRP does not automatically make it a good deal.

And they wouldn't have been good deals above £40 either.

I really don't get this reasoning. That is not my problem. Nintendo are nothing special. They make videogames like everyone else. I'm not willing to pay extra for something just because it's attached to a supposedly premium brand. £48 is too expensive for a standard edition, whether it's from Sony, MS or Nintendo.

I'm just posting this up as it was cheaper than the current cheapest listing that was on this site beforehand. I don't think it's unreasonable to post it. The game itself is sold out nearly everywhere at this point, even at £59.99, which tells you that most people don't think it's a rip off and I'm sure there's at least one person who found this post helpful.

As for the last part you quoted, thats your opinion that Nintendo are nothing special but they've sold more console units than any other manufacturer so the stats would disagree. 20% off of a brand new game isn't a terrible deal, it's not my problem you disagree with that. Why are you even looking at Nintendo products on here if that's your attitude anyway? If you're a Nintendo consumer then you know what to expect in terms of pricing for software. If you think it's too expensive then just stick to Sony, MS, PC or mobile because you will have a very long wait if you're expecting to find a game like this at even half that price.

Being cheaper than the current cheapest listing also wouldn't automatically make it a good deal though. £200 for a bag of potatoes is not a good deal. £100, even though it is half the price, is still not a good deal.

I have no objection to you posting it, but I'm still going to vote cold on any deal for a standard edition of a game that's priced at £48. This is nothing personal BTW, I just have the same standard for Nintendo as the others.

This isn't HotUKStockAlerts, there are already sites for that (though a separate section on HUKD might be handy, rather than cluttering up the deals section with these stock alerts).

which tells you that most people don't think it's a rip off and I'm sure there's at least one person who found this post helpful.

Did most people pay £60 for it? How do you know they didn't think it was a ripoff? A person could begrudgingly buy something because they couldn't find it anywhere else and still think the price was a ripoff.

As for the last part you quoted, thats your opinion that Nintendo are nothing special but they've sold more console units than any other manufacturer so the stats would disagree.

Nintendo have been in the game for far longer than Sony or MS, and also sell handhelds which are cheaper than home consoles, so it's not surprising that they've sold more. That doesn't mean that they're special, or that people should have to pay more for their products.

20% off of a brand new game isn't a terrible deal

I wouldn't say 'terrible', but £48 is a bad deal for a standard edition of a game. New PS4/XB1 games typically get heat for around the £40 price. There is absolutely no reason why Nintendo games should be treated any differently.

it's not my problem you disagree with that.

I didn't say it was. I'm simply giving my opinion on why this is not a good deal. -184 suggests I'm not alone in this opinion either.

Why are you even looking at Nintendo products on here if that's your attitude anyway?

I didn't say I don't like Nintendo products. I want them to succeed as much as anyone, as the more competition there is, the better. I'm probably going to buy the Switch eventually if it drops in price and enough good games are released. I have zero brand loyalty though. A bad price is a bad price, regardless of the company.

If you're a Nintendo consumer then you know what to expect in terms of pricing for software.

I am not one to just sit back and accept anything that a company throws at me :). If a deal is posted for BotW for a bit less than £40, then I will vote it hot.
