Argos so far seems to be the cheapest price (as I want to pick it up today and not wait) I can find. Just need to find myself a cheap pro controller now :)

I've heard there's frame rate issues with the Wii U version compared to the Switch version.

I have a Wii U as well, but if i'm honest, I don't think I'd want to pay near £50 for a game for a console that is effectively dead in terms of releases and will soon be dropped by Nintendo in terms of updates. I won't vote, just my two cents on the matter.

They both have frame rate issues. Watch the GameXplain review... the Switch version actually grinds down to a complete stop in some fights... they thought the game had froze.

Framerate issues aren't worth talking about as long as they don't effect the fundamental gameplay. You want perfect framerate, then get a PC - don't game on consoles.

It had an update yesterday and is running the same as the Switch when docked now although it's at 720p and not 900p. Comparisons are available on Youtube. The Switch is most definitely not worth buying this game for if you already own or can buy a cheap Wii U now.

They don't have stock. just spoken to them... "you will get it delivered today... but we don't have stock. there is a *possibility* that we will get stock over the weekend."

Morning biddy, I tend to agree. I've watched many side by side comparison videos on Youtube over the past week (especially the ones saying final release versions) and I've come to the conclusion there's hardly any noticeable difference between the two of them. Maybe a slightly lighter gamma/hue on the Switch version - that's all I can see with my eyes! I've read about the marginally higher resolution on the TV for the Switch (if docked) but I doubt that's very noticeable.

Morning. :D I think the Wii U version looks better because of the lower gamma. Makes the colours pop more. The Switch version would be worth it if portability was something you want as the framerate is better when in portable mode, but I don't see the point if only playing this docked. Splatoon 2 will probably be the first point of entry that may be worth upgrading to Switch (Not for me personally mind as I need at least a new Mario and a new Donkey Kong :p ).

For those let down on Wii U Pre-orders; I'd say it maybe worth checking stock at your local Smyths online, if you have one nearby? Picked my one up in Smyths at the midnight event, they seemed to have plenty available for the Wii U at £44.99 and I didn't pre-order with them.

My Amazon order of the Wii U version has been bumped to Monday delivery. Ordered in January. No explanation.

Pretty poor, even Saturday would've been ok.

Yep happened to me too. Email came at 2am. To add dumb icing on the dumb cake I was able to order it on Prime Now instead and am installing it now. Ended up cheaper with the £5 off code too. Wtf Amazon.

Thank you. Was kidding myself that I wasn't going to buy this game...... Almost latest a whole day.

I resent the idea of paying more than £30 for a game, but I want this for the Wii U as I know I won't pick up a Switch for a long time yet. My problem is Nintendo are kind of infamous for doing limited print runs of its games and, as this is something they are using to sell the switch, I have a feeling they won't put too many copies out for the Wii U. Hmm, what to do...

I think you summed it up perfectly, reason why i paid £45 as i do not see this ever going below £35-£40 on the wii u as it will most likely be 1 limited print for retailers and then Nintendo will sell the rest on their website for £50+

Since Amazon have let me down too and it's not being delivered until Monday have reserved one to pick up from my local. Over £15 more than Amazon one though so will use the receipt to get a refund with sealed Amazon copy when it turns up.

You mean get a very powerful PC? and lots of PC games have massive framerate issues from drivers not working properly to dodgy ports

I had a tweet from amazon at 1am this morning saying it was definitely coming today and 30 minutes later an email saying it was delayed until Tuesday. I would cancel but I used the £10 off over £50 January promotion, so I'm getting the game for £32.50 versus paying £45> to get it today locally.

I don't get how amazon didn't know until this morning they didn't have enough stock, but it was supposed to dispatch on wednesday.
#38
Just received an email from Amazon with a £5 discount code to apologise for the game delay.

They also offered a Digital code for Wii U BotW at the same price as the physical pre-order.

I don't know if everyone got this but I did send a short complaint email.
#39
Had the same email. Hmmm.... so that's £35 I'm guessing. I'm kinda confused, the email says don't use 1-click (which I have turned off) but there's no 'add to basket' with digital products, just a 'place order'. Don't want to accidentally order it at £60.

Had that email, but the price it went down to was £42.99 when I applied the code, not sure where they pulled that number from because it says £40 on my original order before discounts.
