I ordered this a few days ago from JL. When it arrived by post it was just packaged in bubble wrap in a plastic bag. The Lego box was badly damaged, the seals had been opened and reseated and the bubble wrap was actually sellotaped to the box! Very unimpressed!

I actually raised this in another thread, it's disgraceful that retailers are shipping these big Lego sets in plastic bags and not cardboard boxes because they damage so easily. Not exactly the condition you want to give a gift or keep for a lifetime.

No quibbles from them when I returned it. I actually then bought it from TRU as they had a brief £20 off but I've had to send it back twice for crushed boxes. I'm coming to the conclusion me and this set aren't compatible!

I know Lego Shop is generally more expensive but at least they know how to get it to you in perfect condition!

Yeah I found lego to bw good, they pack it well. I thinks worth complaining with john lewis cos they have good customer service. I have found tesco to be fairly good too.

I actually purchased mine from in store JL on Black Friday. I bought the last one and the box was in pretty bad condition. I haggled with the manager for 10 minutes and he gave in and knocked 10% extra off for me. Worked out at around £84.00. So find a manager and negotiate a discount for the damaged box :)
