Not a deal, but thanks for the heads up. Heated because it was useful to me.
#2
got mine in the Manchester store a couple of weeks ago, was surprised to see it in!
#3
Bought. I've been waiting for this to come back in stock for AGES :{

I agree its not a deal but still hot from me too, I really wanted a few of these for ourselves and family presents. Got a dino crazy nephew. It fits in well with the lego museum and I am taking my kid to the real museum over the hols so I know he will love his this.

Cheers OP!
#5
is this considered a good set...it seems very 'bitty'?
#6
I have a dino and lego mad 6yo who loved this set!
#7
Heat. Thanks.

Not necessarily a great price but a rare find
Thank you, been looking everywhere
They are being sold for silly prices on ebay

Don't bother unless you want to build it as the prices on eBay have nose-dived. Why? It's because another estimated 300,000 are being produced during 2015 and will be sold at all retailers like the Exo Suit is now. BTW... I work for Rehau Plastics who supply Lego with colouring pigments and raw pellets. My account manager takes a peak at production targets sometimes.

Also the following sets are being restocked in Europe in January:

Batman Tumbler (production increasing to 100,000 units during 2015 and distribution to all retailers - same price!)
Grand Emporium (in new smaller box with a new lower price of £124.99)
Town Hall (in new smaller box with a new lower price of £139.99)
Super Star Destroyer (in thicker-walled box with new lower price of £299.99)
R2-D2 (updated model with light functions and higher price of £159.99)

Thanks for the informative info there TabbyBoy. About time Lego reduced box sizes for the bigger sets. I suspect it is less about the environment and more about potential packaging cost savings!
#11
The real limited lego is the target exclusive minifigures set from the usa.
#12
nice find op, heat added :)

Ignore TabbyBoy. If anything sets like Grand Emporium are likely to be retired soon as opposed to getting price lowered and a smaller box (what?). This is not something Lego normally does.

I don't what is with that account but they tend to post weird Lego 'deals' e.g. like their comment in this thread http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/lego-high-speed-train-60051-70-asda-direct-2062865. I don't know what they get out of posting stuff like that.

Absolute BS. It seems you put this kind of rubbish on all sort after Lego sets to keep your re-sale value up.

Fond memories of playing research institute as a child. This is bs. What happened to just basic sets of blocks where you built whatever you wanted. Is creativity dead in camerons Britain?

Well the lego sets are the same the world over, so what about Obama's USA, Merkels Germany, and so on... if you want to build with a basic sec of blocks, you can still do as such sets are available.

Thanks artcon, otterbox I see now TabbyCat is 'at it'. No one is that barmy or trollish. I suspect there are other ulterior motives. Perhaps TabbyCat is bulk buying on selected sets for later resale via multiple accounts and does not wish others to obtain them.

Purchased! Thank you so much for posting OP, this is going to make a prefect gift for Christmas for someone I know.

That's right everybody except possibly Lego knows that women can't be scientist. It is against the law so don't try it women, IT'S JUST NOT WORTH IT.

Well that's a lot of your investments down the pan right there. Better to sell now at 30% RRP discount to try and recoup your losses in February.

I've not bought ANY of those sets that are coming back into production in the new year. I have a built/complete Super Star Destroyer on Gumtree right now for £200 and not a sniff!

course you haven't mate. weren't you the guy who had to return 8 GEs to amazon Spain because they all had missing parts.
How would someone in your supposed field have all this info on lego production. Truly sounds suspect to me.

This price is the cost plus P&P. I ordered it the other day and thought no way it would be dispatched but just got the email and came to post on here - as lady scientists who love lego deserve this set (but will chuck the bad chemist woman wearing crap PPE and replace with the better previous minifigure) - but op got here so fast! At least it's not the shocking lego friends right? Pink lego, pfft! It were all red an' white an' uphill both ways back in the day ;)

Just bought 3 (1 as a Christmas present to myself and the other 2 are an investment!) Voted hot for the heads up!
