if you already have rock band 2, you can take all the songs off of it for 800ms points (and for a sim price on psn) and then trade it in, i got £22 last week after paying £26.99.

Do you not have to have the game disc still in the machine to play the game, even if you have saved it to the HDD?

short answer is yes, you need the disc in

to clarify, I have imported the tracks from RB1 and no longer have the disc, but I can still play these tracks as I have the RB2 disc

My understanding is for this and the ac dc track pack if you pay the ms points you can import the tracks and no longer need the game disc in the machine just the RB 2 disc ?

correct alera. In the original RB1 you could import the tracks many times. With this, and the ACDC yoiu have to put in a unique code as well hence you can't juts share the disc around with mates. However you can still get the tracks for a little cash by buying it cheap, exporting with code then selling on. You can't export the beatles game whatsoever.
