Went to Asda in store and they have this set on a super discount.

80GBP->55GBP->40GBP->20GBP

Bagged two. At checkout it scanned at 40GBP each, screamed, yelled and barked and got my 40GBP refund (2 * 20GBP). Complained how come there is no "Double the Difference" policy like Tesco (trying to get the sets free), told no, then got offered a 2GBP voucher, well, better han nothing.

RRP 80GBP on lego.com, essentially 75% off

Building starts right after this post.....

To infinity and BEYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOND!!!!!!!!!!!!

Special Note: Allow me to apologise for the first two posters below, who seem to be either unable to read or do simple maths, or both. (Personally really wonder how did they arrive at the "40GBP per set" conclusion").

Yes, but that is perhaps why I didn't PHONE the shop, I SHOPPED the shop.

Phone = 40, SHOP = 20.

You know what, you really shouldn't borther, because:

1) At 40GBP, you probably can't afford it
2) You are too lazy to go to a store and have to use a phone instead
3) Even if you manage to get one for 20GBP, you won't be able to actually build the thing.

So yea, end of conversation as there is not much point talking to a "oh-i-don't-want-to-go-to-the-shop-so-i-will-phone-up-instead"

Let me kiss you goodnight, perhaps you would like someone to tuck you in as well, sweetheart.

what? can't counter argue the five points and have to resort to labelling people as weird? That is easy, look:

YOU are weird.

Have you ever worked in retail?
The correct price is the system price. Sometimes the shelf edge label is wrong because it has not yet been updated. (somebody missed it)
Just because a label says £20 does not mean it is meant to still be £20.

A thousand people on here would tell you the same thing.

I have had some great deals of hotdeals.com over the last 3 years, only joining now just to ask if the items were marked up at £20 each on the shelves and the op seems very angry for no reason.

ive just been to my local who had these on the shelf at £40, i asked at customer service was this the correct price as other stores are charging £20 and she checked with the manager on duty and it was £40, He said some stores may still have Christmas stock that they are trying to shift ( no idea what that means as the boxes are the same) so this could just be store specific, he also said that they will be going back to the RRP with in the next few weeks

OMG!OMG!

There is a WHOLE row of them.

The price of 20gbp is CORRECT hence that is why they refunded the difference.

I got two for 20gbp, the label SAYS "WAS 40, NOW 20"

Can you like, not read or something?

It's worth joining :) The OP did see them marked as £20 in the store (not sure which store though). It is possible that other stores have them marked up as £20 but I definitely would not make a special trip.

I can full understand why the OP "screamed, yelled and barked". It's because he has possibly the worst attitude towards other people on this site, than any other person I have come across.
The original post was confusing in the way it was written. I fully expect to be belittled by the OP for this personal opinion, as he seems to believe that only what he says matters.

For all the things I mentioned you have to have your focus on three words ( which were OF COURSE a figure of speech in case you haven't noticed)

You know what. Don't even bother. You of all people here is the one least deserved to buy this 80 quid set for 20.

Why would you have to have "screamed, yelled and barked"if it is meant to be £20 ?

Didnt you know? We all bought these 2 months ago when £20 :) However, I bought m mine for my nephew. I am not quite sure why a grown adult (or not) is doing building a train set for themselves at 10:30pm though :)

So what IF I provide proof?

What do I get?

Is it not enough for me to provide intel on such a cracking deal? Now I have to be questioned and ask for proof?

You know what? Ask YOURSELF, what do I LOSE if YOU miss out on this?
