If you're looking for a budget family day out at Legoland, this it it.

You'll get a night in a hotel with free parking and 1 day worth of park tickets which i think is a bargain, yes the hotel is a little while away but for £25pp (based on a family of 4) is well worth it. - Other dates / nearer hotels are aval but obviously at a higher cost

Update 1 07/04 6pm - More rooms aval but at Reading South (22 miles from Legoland Windsor) and now you get breakfast :)

slightly nearer, just check dates and should appear

Even by public transport it's 2 hours away. Unless you are saying that it's 4 and a half hours from your house? In which case why are you even commenting on this thread?!

I'm commenting because I have an opinion like everyone else , I'm just saying thanks but just to far for us in the same way that folk in Devon probably wouldn't go to BPB .

That's like me commenting on a deal for Disney world in Florida to tell everyone I'm not going as it's too far!

I think the OP was saying that the hotel is a "little while away" from Legoland, rather than a "little while away" from your house!
#18
cheapest I can see is coming up at £149 for two adults and 2 children.
#19
I booked with the hotel and park entrance for the 16th April @ £99 for the 4 of us earlier today.
[mod]#20
They've update rooms/location to Reading South, closer to resort with breakfast.

Updated OP to reflect this :)
#21
Excellent, booked it as a birthday present to myself!
#22
Just booked at Reading South, £99 including breakfast. Brilliant, thanks OP 8)

good luck with legoland. unless you pay extra for q bot, which let's you jump the queue. you'll spend hours in a queue. we managed 4 rides in a day.

did I forget to mention you have to pay to park. like you have an option???

legoland displays are dirty and tired. The whole experience was just one long cash cow.

Avoid Avoid just read reviews on trip advisor

Yes the queues are very long and you have to pay extortionate prices for absolutely everything (seriously) but the kids will love it. Just pack your own food and water! Get there as early as possible too and just accept the queues. Good day out

Probably, but it will take them 2h to get there.

Personally, I don't see the point staying overnight if going to the park for 1 day only.
I think once you are there they offer 2nd day quite cheap, bo not 100% sure.

Might be wrong, but I don't think they do usually offer a 2nd day quite cheap.
I can see the point of staying for 1 day only - makes it easier to get there early or leave late and be able to do something else (Windsor Castle, etc) on the other day.

But isn't that the point of this deal? It includes the hotel, so the distance from you is not really relevant. The distance from the hotel to the park may be relevant for some, though.

I don't see the point of going for more than 1 day. Get there early to minimise queues, stay until closing and you've done everything. There's not enough to warrant another day IMHO. However, you could then coming this work another cheap deal elsewhere, e.g. London-based or stop off en route, to make more of a break.

was there yesterday with my family. Average wait for a ride 40 minutes. Absolute disaster and waste of money

Guess you don't go to theme parks very often then. 40 mins is a pretty short queue. Personal advice - stay away at busy periods (like next weekend - at least you went before half the country went onto half term!
For those who don't mind waiting - I think Legoland is amazing!
We got the annual passes through tesco 2 years ago and went about 10 times in the year.

This comment is hilarious. I'm gonna start commenting on stuff in Scotland for giggles. "Why would I care if 4 kit kats are a quid in Aberdeen Nisa..."

I am not visiting Legoland until they put some sort of cap on number of people allowed to start with. It's like herds are allowed to wonder as they like. Not surprise, why would they offer second day free /discounts, because management is aware that family of four would not have chance to get on all rides at least once in one day, looking at number of people allowed to graze in.

As mentioned on this forum and on previous thread, it's a queue land. I got two boys 7 & 4 and it's very difficult to keep them entertained for an hour while waiting for their turn to get on five minutes ride. I can go on for another half an hour but rather not waste my time. I will take my kids somewhere else and there are lots of places, where they can have decent day out for the money I pay for Legoland and top of that a lifetime memories of crying children while waiting on queue. NEVER AGAIN…..
