I bought this tablet from Tesco at £129 about 6 months ago and I have to say it is a quality product for the price.

I am looking to buy a large tablet this weekend and just see. this deal. I was looking at galaxy tab a 10.1 but this is a lot cheaper I'm just worried about the screen quality. Anyone who knows is the screen quality good on this model, I'll be using it for web browser and Kodi?

Sceen quality on this is awful IMO. Whites are yellow, blacks are greyish and IMO certainly doesn't look like it's HD.

I bought this when John Lewis were selling for £109 a few months ago. Its excellent but do not allow the upgrade to android 5.1. Well documented on the web that wifi will become erratic and fail/ disconnect continually. I had to downgrade back to 4.4 to get stable wifi. Doesn't look like it will ever get android 6

Screen quality on this is perfectly fine, not sure what that other guy is on about.

OK thanks for the feedback

Thought I would add got this in the 119.99 promotion, and even as a techno snob find it hard to fault this device.

The screen does really well rendering all 1080p material I chuck at it, games are smooth, and the battery life is pretty much unbeatable.

The only downside is that it will never go past 5.0.1 due to Lenovo being afraid it will cannibalise sales of its newest device.

This model was £119.99 when I bought mine from tesco so definitely not a good deal for the same product at additional cost !!!!!!!
#12
This has been around £100 before and will be again if you are willing to wait.
#13
Seems like a decent tablet.
Anybody who owns this Tablet, what's your opinion?
And could I push Android Nougat on it?

Of course. Read on. You will see nothing works permanently. It is a major flaw and you just have to accept that this tablet will always be on Android 4.4 to work properly

Had mine for 3 months now and absolutely perfect, really impressive screen and plays everything I put to it 1920 x 1080 mkv's no problem. Even tv shows at 720 x 404 look really good, I got mine from Argos Ebay £109.99 with free delivery and a 12 months guarantee... and they're still available with over 672 sold.
Mine is running Android 5.0.1 with no issues whatsoever.
If interested the link for £109.99 refurbished one is:

I read that as well and kept mine on kitkat but I did the upgrade on friday and wifi and sound are fine. The only issue I have on mine apart from the 1920 x 1200 pixels not being quite as good as the same screen as my Miix 3, is that if I leave the browser open with multiple tabs, the very first tab crashes and when you reload the tab it doesn't load and you have to close that particular tab. It's not a major issue but odd why it does it.

got mine in January this year when it was on offer from Tesco for £119 I think. it's not a nippy as a recent phone, but it's not laggy enough to be annoying, it's noticeable thou but again it's so slight it's not a deal breaker. Also and again coming from a phone screen, the res on this is noticeably lower but again not low enough to be a put off. where this excels is media consumption. Movies look ace, games (not very high end 3D, more 2D or simpler 3D) are nice and large. I use mine with the case linked below, which lets me use this standing up, great for watching Sky Go in the kitchen. all in all a great tablet, not the fastest on the market, but for the money and even at this price I can't see myself getting another tablet for a while now. Stand/case - IVSO Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70F Smart Case - Ultra-Slim and Ultra-light PU Leather Folio Case Stand Cover for Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70F Tablet(2015 Version, NOT fit for Lenovo Tab A10-70 Tablet) - with Magnetic (White) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00U8NIQ3M/

.....also the case turns the screen off/on when the front cover is closed/opened.

That about sums it up for me also. I got this case which also has the sleep and wake function.

Agreed, I have two of these tablets and have upgraded to the latest software release and there is no problem with the wifi.

One of the best purchases I've made, never had a WiFi issue, screen matches my Ipad Air for quality.

Make sure you disable AAL then its as smooth as butter.

For a machine that stuck on 5.0.1 I'd say its a bit expensive. I know there isn't much choice at this price point but 5.0.1 is a real dogs dinner. If Cyanogenmod 13 is available for it, then it gets far more interesting.
#33
Anyone any recommendations for a case for it?

Just be aware that there are video compatibility issues with this table, one example of which is it will not run BBC iPlayer.

That's rubbish. I just downloaded the bbc iplayer app and watched the introduction of the new strictly come dancing contestants. Nothing wrong with BBC iplayer on my tablet which is the same as the one posted, i.e. Tab 2 A10-70, the one with the 1920 x 1200 screen. You either have a problem with the install, your tablet or your internet.

Then why is there 34 pages of complaints about this tablet after the lollipop update on lenovos own forums?
https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-Android-based-Tablets-and/LENOVO-TAB-2-A10-70-lollipop-issues-report-everybody/td-p/2134960
I am as familiar as anyone here with hacking, flashing, rooting, troubleshooting and I cannot solve the WiFi dropping issue. Maybe there are slightly different components being used in the manufacture so some do and some don't have problems after lollipop update?

Sorry, I should have specified that it doesn't work if you have the system software up to date with 5.0.1. I presume it's OK with KitKat.

Well that's really odd. when I got mine in January it came with kitkat and I didn't upgrade it as lots of people complained about the sound and wifi dropping out. I eventually did the upgrade at the weekend and just checked following your last post and it says it still has kitkat on it. Maybe it didn't upgrade for some reason as it is now showing a system update.

You have to go through a few updates one by one to finally get to lollipop , it doesnt just go straight to it.
