Intel Celeron 2815 Dual Core 1.86Ghz
4GB RAM + 320GB HDD
15.6" LED Display
Webcam + Bluetooth
Windows 8.1 64bit - With Bing

If you are looking for an affordable, reliable and top performing laptop this Lenovo B50 is the machine for you. Powered by an Intel processor and with the latest version of Windows 8.1 to free your creativity you find this a great machine for work, study or for at home.

High resolution display

With Lenovo you know you are going to get a high quality laptop and the B50 certainly delivers. The 15.6" LED backlit screen is an excellent size for working on and the 1366 x 768 display delivers sharp images and vibrant colours.

Surprisingly for a laptop with a DVD drive this machine weighs in at only 2.15kg. So it's light enough to carry around all day between home and the office or college.

And, with a battery that will last for around five hours, you will be able to take the laptop with you on your morning commute or to a leisurely meeting in a coffee shop.

Great performance

The laptop has 4gb of memory and a 320gb Hard Drive and benefits from fast boot up. With Intel HD graphics and stereo speakers the laptop delivers an excellent performance for its price tag.

Interfaces

With many of us using different devices that we like to hook up to each other it is important that a laptop has plenty of connectivity. And the B50 meets the criteria.

Importantly it has an HDMI connection for displaying online content on your big screen TV and it also has a super-fast USB 3.0 port along with an extra USB 2.0 and RJ45 connection.

£209.99 less £30 cash back, low cost but reasonable brand and nice size screen and overall specification for the price is very good.

Looks a good basic Laptop for the money ,much better VFM than that Dell dinosaur that was raved about on here .Well hot for what it costs .
#3
It is that Dell dinosaur, likely tarted up, but maybe not.

No lenovo are recognised brand and frankly i think DELL are well overrated, i find them poor value for money unlike lenovo

I have the dell and honestly there is nothing wrong with it.

This might be an ever so slightly better deal - with it having the optical drive, USB3 & Bluetooth but they're both Netbooks disguised as Laptops and I bet this is made by the same company that manufactured the Dell.

You should hope and prey nothing goes wrong with this and you have to deal with Ebuyer after 6 months. My main reason for buying the Dell and not this was the thought of having to deal with Ebuyer.

"Ever so slightly " Optical Drive , Bluetooth and USB3 ? I would suggest these make it into an acceptable entry level Laptop which the Dell sadly was not .

Dell has a bigger hard drive and faster processor. as an entry level laptop why would you Need usb 3.0 or bluetooth. an optical drive is a bonus. but in a world where so cards an usb sticks are so popular you don't really need it either. to be honest Dell will be a lot easier to deal with IF something was to go wrong. Both are good laptops for the money. It probably just comes down to brand and retailer preference.

as for the dell dinosaur comments,
how is it a dinosaur. With a faster processor that was released this year.

It will be as good as many a 6 year old laptop, but the price makes it value. Dell likely purposely make their cheap ones look a bit monstrous.

Well what would you consider the Dell to be? Optical Drive , Bluetooth and USB3 are features and options I have no use for.

I would rather have a faster processor, more storage, save the £20 odd and not deal with ebuyer.

"Silly" ! Pretending to be a modern Laptop without Bluetooth or USB3 , or the convenience of an optical Drive Now that is Silly oO . Many people who buy an entry level Laptop wont be comfortable with ,or even have access to the Cloud .

Bluetooth has been on laptops for years. Why not have USB 3.0 all it does is make transfer of data quicker, and there's plenty of cheap USB 3.0 pen drives. The Dell laptop CPU is only very slightly faster than this one.

The Dell was a good deal (typing this from it), this is also a good deal. Heat added.

lenovo/Dell I have both, bought 2 of the Dell two weeks ago good machine for the money. The lenovo is a good laptop for the money, if you're not some mad geek who wants a £2000 mac for £170

People have a big dislike for ebuyer on here because of their hard drive return policy (among other things) but in all honesty you shouldn't let that stop you from buying, this is a great deal

Apple have not had optical drives for ages so does that make all MBP, MPA and Mac Mini's dinosaurs? Optical drives are no longer needed IMHO and before long they will go the way of the floppy drive. USB 3 is well over rated and devices cost more but don't necessarily perform better than USB 2.

Have to go now off out for a few beers and a curry!

I think it was sometime last year Ebuyer tweeted or shared a picture of their office for some reason. Someone noticed in the background they had a big whiteboard displaying targets the staff had for rejecting customer returns. Can't say I've ever had to return anything to them but I think people didn't like the sound of that.

I currently have a Lenovo laptop and I will never buy another. Build quality is very good however the keyboard is awful and you have to press so hard otherwise it misses letters. I turned all the stupid touch pad gestures off as they just constantly kept making web pages bigger and smaller etc, far too sensitive. Even with them turned off though it doesn't have separate mouse buttons so it's still a pain. Oddly my Chromebook doesnt have separate mouse buttons either but I don't have any issues on that.

This particular Lenovo on this deal does look like it has separate touch buttons so my comments may be completely irrelevant but I have been totally put offf their laptops now.

If ebuyer is like ebay then i think ill give it a miss, ordered some SainSonic 3d glasses from a seller nextbigthink (22137) and they fell apart after 11 months, but have had very little use there is only 66 hours on my projector so u can see how little used they are. nextbigthink (22137) have refused to honor the 12 month guarantee and now wont answer mails either so avoid this seller at all costs. Contacted ebay they say all they can do is contact him but they have no powers to do anything to get him to replace or refund as its gone 60 days. So f them both wont use either again.

Google "Ebuyer Proportionate refund" This is not just limited to Hard Drives as stated previously.

They're a pain if you have issues with items over 6 months old and you have to deal with them and cant go directly through the manufacturer. They'll promise a repair, replacement or full refund but once they have your return back they change their mind, issue you a partial refund (deducting money for use) and send you a link to their T&C's - this is all done so fast you don't have a chance to argue.

If you must buy this use a credit card so you have added protection.

Optical drives are needed when you need it. Optical drives are no longer needed when it is not needed, like you said! One may panic without a DVD player when a useful DVD suddenly turns up. Or if could even be backups for your system using DVDs. USB 3 definitely performs better than USB 2. It may not be by much , around doubled spped copying USB 3 to USB 3 disk. However if you copy infrequently then the slower speed is no big deal in most cases.
#32
Is cashback still available? If you click on terms on the lenovo site it says u need to purchase laptop from 24.07.14 to 31.07.14

If you need a DVD drive then buy this, if you don't buy the Dell. I prefer Lenovo build quality over Dell, but I prefer a Macbook Pro over a Lenovo. I can still edit and use Photoshop on a Lenovo, it's much cheaper but it's not as good as editing on a Macbook- it just depends on what you want it for, and how much you want to spend.

You can always buy a cheap external DVD drive for about £20 and use it when you need it. I've got USB 3 ports on my gaming rig and I've only used it once when I bought an external HDD. It's now used as my time machine for my Mac mini which is only USB 2 and it doesn't seem much slower. As I said Apple don't offer optical drives and haven't done for a while and they seem to be doing alright! For backups it's much easier to buy either an internal or external HDD and back up to that. More expensive but far better.

Why would you think ebuyer is anything like ebay? Apart from a passing similarity in the name they are nothing a like, it's not a bid site. You are also protected by Distance Selling regs ,so if the lappy is crap, just return it.
I've used them a lot in the past, and had rmas with no issue whatsoever, even when out of warranty period.

this cpu is so slow that you would be wasting money on a ssd, it would not push the ssd to his best, slightly better performance than a normal drive. Saying so the sequential read-write should be fine and fast.

Do you really think any modern CPU is too slow to utilise an SSD? I don't think so. It would be interesting to hear from a professional, rather than two HUKD fools like you and me.
