Been reduced by £100 and comes with 2 year warranty.
Seems a goodprice as it includes an optical drive which can be replaced with a caddy and SSD drive.

Possibly not as quick as intel i5 but for graphics and multimedia it would be abetter bet.

Hot for me!
Heat added, good price.
Seems like a fair price, only downside for me is the resolution. The processor is considerably good, on par with the new generation of i5/i7s (although this is a quad).
I have one of these and I definitely wouldn't buy one again, I'm as far off Lenovo as everyone else is after this machine. I still use my old t61 Thinkpad (Circa 2007 I believe) in favour of this bad bad laptop.

According to SuperPi the t61 is about 3 times as fast in CPU terms.

Someone on the design team decided the BIOS should throttle the CPU when it's on charge - presumably it reduces charging time. Maybe someone in marketing then.

The keyboard is horrifically flexible. I couldn't use it for work.

Screen is shiny. Now lots of lappies have glossy screens so it's a 1st world problem of our times but I can't use it. For anything.

The CPU is NOT on a par with i5 and certainly not i7! Even if it IS a quad! And if someone genuinely know better than me on this, then that design team did something really stupid coz it's crippled in this machine.

The ONLY plus is it's from JL - That's why we paid money for it.

If I had to, I'd rather buy that 12" Dell Latitude with a dent in it the other day for £200 than this. It would be better.

Where did you read that? This is not even close to the performance of a new gen i5 or i7. According to the reviews is closest Intel equivalent is a 3rd gen i3.

I personally think this is a fairly average price for the performance on offer. You could find a much better performing Intel i5 for around this.
Cold cus it's not a MacBook
I have this with the a8 processor. The whole laptop feels cheap and crap. Lenovo is a Chinese state owned company so you can imagine the quality.
Ok, so if I want the BEST laptop one can get for £500, what do you lot suggest? Touchscreen and OS NOT NECESSARY, as I'll be making it into a Hackintosh.
Should be 14-15" as I'd use it for Photoshop, as well as music production.
Ideally would like full HD screen, HDMI, fast CPU, light and slim and not prone to overheating, and would LOVE a full alu construction. No shiny screens, refurbs OK if they offer a substantial bang for buck hike. Battery life reasonably important but not crucial, as I'll probably use it near power points 90% of the time.
I'll be putting in a Sammy Evo 250 GB SSD if it doesn't come with one.

I found a used 3 or 4 y.o. HP Core i7, 2.1GHz that would deffo need the £85 Sammy SSD upgrade, for just £215, so effectively £300 with the new HD, BUT it's just a 12" screen... Hmmm, what to do? I guess I could get a nicer 42" telly and hook it up to that, but would it ever be an adequate substitute for a decent bigger lappy screen for Photoshop work? (Not pro work, obviously, but I am quite persnicketty).
