Hi was in ASDA Walmart Manchester today and spotted this Laptop on offer for £397.
Most probably not store specific, or not entirely atleast. Pretty good spec for the money. I suspect they are selling them off to make way for the new i series intel processor models. Theres a chance that the model instore may differ slightly from the one on ASDA direct site, but I very much doubt it as I saw t4400, 320gb, windows 7 on the box instore.

Dual core not C2D according to the dabs site.

"Pentium" and "Core 2 Duo" are brand names from Intel.

Pentiums are dual core but NOT "Core 2 Duo".

"Core 2 Duo" is the name of the "better" dual core CPUs from Intel.

So in fact you cant have a "Pentium Core 2 Duo"

It is like saying you can buy a Ford Focus Mondeo

However the Pentium dual core are fine for most people who do "general" computing.

Why would you get this when you can get this
http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/colour_promotions-534-commercial.html

Pentium T4400
3GB RAM
500GB HDD
Available in lots of pretty colours

It's the ford focus mondeo ferrari of the computing world... well not quite but guilbert53 gets me

Well the lenovo gets 4 GB of ram, the dell 3 GB. But the dell gets 500GB HDD, but the dell has Intel graphics, so I would personally go for the lenovo still.

Very good point! Didnt realise it had dedicated graphics...

makes the dell more of a ford focus skoda :p

I bought 12 of these for work for £297 each as they had Vista Home on last month from PC World business.

Installed Windows 7 pro on them and they run like a dream and very well built for work. (we have a m$ campus licence so can do this legit)

Lenevo is a very businessy laptop! Good quality and good specs... although its not the most aesthetically pleasing laptop

No harm to you guil, but that was totally unrelated :p

The op clearly states:

Processor Intel core 2 Duo T4400 2.2GHz

Dabs says:

Intel Pentium T4400 / 2.2 GHz ( Dual-Core )

I know they are both dual core, but the branding may be important to some people who would buy this and be utterly dismayed that it's a dual core and not c2d.

Simply wanting to correct the description ;)

the only bit you needed to know was T4400 which made it the same cpu so why the fuss??

Well I just put the specs that asda put, both instore and onliine they claim its a c2d. Again it is just branding and apparently it is basicly a C2D but intel removed afew features from it. Here is the info http://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-Pentium-Dual-Core-T4400-Notebook-Processor.25726.0.html
