Looks like a decent laptop for the money but not exactly a spectacular deal.

not great compared to some of the acer deals that have been on here tonight

I'd like to think Lenevo(IBM) would be better build quality than acer..

Would have to agree with that, never will get an Acer again, the customer service is a complete nightmare.

IBM sold the ThinkPad brand to Lenovo, but as far as I am aware they don't own Lenovo or have anything to do with the making of their machines. I could be wrong though. That said, Lenovo are highly reputable IMHO, moreso than Acer.

and one last thing before I leave, could someone please let me know which is the better deal between this Lenovo and this samsung. I know very little about the new Intel i3/i5/i7 range but am suspicious that the i3 might just be a rebadged celeron.

i3 is quite a powerful yet efficient chip - It is definitely not a rebadged cerelon.

The Dabs one looks to be the better deal as it's an i3-370M as opposed to the i3-350M in this one.
Looks like it's just got a higher clock speed, 2.4GHz vs 2.26GHz.

Excellent deal and now £389.98 at Dabs.... http://www.dabs.com/products/lenovo-g560---15-6--hd-led-screen----intel-core-i3-cpu---2gb-ddr---250gb-hdd---win7-home-premium-laptop-77L9.html (Be sure to ADD THE WIRELESS MOUSE to get this price, it knocks money off!)

.....but I would suggest having a look at this too (£434.32) http://www.ebuyer.com/product/227402
As this is a similar Lenovo laptop (Z560) and has a faster and higher capacity 320gb 7200rpm hard drive, has dedicated NVIDIA GeForce 310M graphics (512mb) as opposed to the shared graphics of the G560. It may be worth the extra 40 odd quid?
