Its a very nice bit of kit for the money. Pity you can't just appreciate that fact without puerile remarks about those who prefer something different.

Voted hot.

I think this is absolutely perfect for my needs, well the i3 version. I have had laptops with powerful graphic cards, expensive graphic cards and never used it. This is a very compact unit, well built with a good screen size. Yes, if you want to play games it does fall down. In that case, you'd buy a tower unit every time if your a gamer.

I don't know anything about computers but I need some advice. Id love a good looking computer like a touch screen all in one. I need it for online banking, iTunes with other downloads like torrents, tv programs etc and just Internet surfing, like here, ign etc. Is this good for this or is there something better. I like the Sony j series touch screens, but again, confused&unsure.com

Thanks in advance and heat added as looks nice and a reasonable price.

Indeed!

You'd be better of with a tablet, as a machine like this can do very little other than look pretty while you browse facebook and youtube.

Even the macbook air has beter integrated graphics than this, albeit at a higher price, but a lot more portable.

A touch screen is fairly pointless for those needs (as are touch screen pc's in general). I'd reccommend going to somewhere like pc world to try them out first too, as a lot of people have trouble with them due to the unnatural placement of the screen when you use touch gestures. Having your arm elevated, and your wrist at a 90 degree angle all the time takes its toll.

This is more than enough for your needs.

Another quote by someone who seems to think that the most important metric for a PC is how well it plays games. That’s such a myopic viewpoint as the majority of people don’t play games on a PC. To say that this PC can do very little is madness.

Nope. Considering i replaced my gaming desktop with a MacBook its safe to say I dont give a crap about gaming performance, especially considering its hooked up to a 2560x1440 screen.

Try doing anything even remotely graphically intensive on this and it will end with an all-in-one in a heap outside and a smashed window. And no, I dont mean gaming, I mean anything in the various adobe programs and beyond. Even if its casual use.

But whatever. If you're happy paying £600 for a PC with Intel's notoriously bad integrated graphics, then go ahead.

My desktop has Intel graphics and I use Adobe Photoshop Elements with zero problems. Most multimedia content creation tools don’t use the GPU for acceleration at this stage although in the future that will very likely be much more common.
But for casual users it’s a non issue unless you are editing HD video in which case a quad core CPU is more important than a dedicated GPU.

So your a bit miffed that i had a pop at sheeple who pay way over the odds for locked down apple products? Apple users should always be challenged, because they are being conned by crapple marketing. Sorry if i poked your fanboy nerve, just doing my job.

Last i heard it was ok to use the internet to express opinions, so its a shame you just cant appreciate my pop at apple without getting your undies in a twist.

Opinions are welcome only when they exhibit a modicum of credibility...

Anyway, it's a very nice alternative to an iMac for those who are more Windows-inclined. I hope more home desktop computers end up in this form factor as it just saves so much space over a traditional tower.

Also, for the Intel naysayers, the iGPUs inside the latest Core i processors are no slouch if you use your PC for anything but relatively recent fullscreen 3D games - the audience for which I doubt Lenovo are targeting with this product.

I've just ordered one for my new office, perfect considering I has built in Freeview.
Most people knocking seem to be missing the point it's almost half the price on this deal
#28
Could be best to wait a few days to see what the new iMac version is going to be like. Most likely still going to be more expensive than this for about the same specs, but you never know.

All in the know -

Lots of conflicting posts here. I am liking the look of this and am thinking of getting it. However, those who are more informed, please can you let me know on the below:

1. A lot is said on the graphics on this machine. How good / bad is it? I mean, I want to essentially play command and conquer, football manager, view movies etc. Will this suffice?

2. In terms of the processor - I looked on a CPU benchmark site. Seemed to be towards the lower end of the page! However - for things like the above or for example running java apps, excel modelling etc ..... is this system ok?

3. finally, can an extra screen be added to this system? I wanted to use it for trading hence 2 (maybe more) screens are what I need.

I like this system because of the look and also the space it seems to save.

Thanks in advance all!

I can answer question 1 for you. Football manager will be fine as the processor is more important for this. Cnc depends on what one you are talking about there is about 20 of them! most of the will be playable though you may have to tinker with the detail settings. As for the movies, normal definition films will run on nearly anything within reason.

Wow peopel are so negative. it's all about needs, yes serious video editing you won't need i. Games like cham manager, football manager etc will be fine. Photo editing will be fine. Though the graphic card lacks, a lot is still down to the processor. Obviously, one would imagine that a peson would buy something that suits their needs. A tower unit which components can be changed for the gamers. A unit like this for people who want internet, odd movie, skype, facebook and msn etc with the odd game.

This appeals to me, I had all singing and dancing quad cores, with high end graphic cards, athlon x64 with 2 512mb sli which were top end at the time. Never used it.

Its all about needs, this shouldn't be slagged of due to it not being suitable to somene needs, however to price and the deal. I think it's a fab unit, external dvd writer, meaning you can use it with your laptop.
