Win 10 with 2GB RAM. Has anyone got any experience of such a spec?

Most the cheaper windows tablets have 2gb of ram and run basic stuff good enough. Just don't be expecting to do loads of video editing or playing the latest games in high graphics.

If you are thinking of joining the party and upgrading to Windows 10 the anniversary update then 2GB becomes the minimum amount of RAM according to MS. But as mentioned tonnes of netbooks and tabs have 2gb!

just go to crucial.com/UK and scan the device you can see how much for more memory if more can be installed.

This cannot have its RAM upgraded.

Haven't these dropped to this price almost everywhere this week?

These frequently drop to under £80, do not waste your money.

Memory is fine, it's obviously not going to multitask like a 4gb device will, but Windows is now quite smart with memory usage.

A Z3735F is a bit weak sauce though. On a £50 tablet it's passable but I wouldn't want to be doing School/College/Uni work on one.

This price isn't really cheap. If I were bargain hunting for a basic laptop I think my first call would always be the Argos ebay page. The refurbished units still have a 12 month guarantee:

I upgraded an old machine from Win 7 to Win 10 which has 2GB RAM and it is so slow even for browsing and Office. TVCatchup has memory issues. I have Windows 10 with 4GB and 8GB machines and they are fine. I even found Win 8 was faster than Win 10 with 2GB RAM. I wondered whether 4GB is a minimum for a decent performance.

Hello

If you have joined the party and installed the Windows 10 the anniversary update then 2GB is absolute minimum to run just the OS with out complicating it with extras, av software, tv watching etc.

May be this is why my videocard drivers suddenly keep crashing.

I did the same with a 3gb laptop and it put it too its knees too. But I did a good clean out, deleted the installation files and stopped a bunch of things opening on start up and it has made it work a lot better. I think if it comes pre-installed I think it tends to run better.

Or if you prefer, you can spend an extra 50p and buy one at Curry's instore.

one this to be aware on this is that the touch pad doesn't work with gestures.

so no two finger scrolling, which I feel is a must nowadays if you use the touch pad
